Dean quotes Bible to bash Republicans

If you’re drinking water or milk or anything, put it down before you read this…else it will shoot out of your nose. Hilarity ensues: link

  1. “In the first he said Jesus’ directive to ”love thy neighbor” didn’t mean one could choose which ones to love.” Why not Bill Clinton chose who to love and others to love. Okay, the only thing Bill chose to love or not was whether its male of female.

Realy , Okay, enough of the Clinton Bashing,

Jesus ment for us as individuals to care for our neighbor and our brother (or Sister) Human. Not for the Government to take care of our fellow Americans. That is why Americans give more to world charities than any other country. Look at all the bags of grain in Africa or Asia. Those bags say from the USA. If we’re not Charatable, It will be a shock to all those people in South Asia who thank the USA for keeping the region alive with US aide. Lastly lets not even get into one of Bush’s greatest successes, the Faith Based innititave.
Dean can’t even claim that it’s the Dem Amricans who are doing it. Look at the many articles that say the greatest cheratable giving in the USA comes from the Red States.

“Republicans never brought up the scriptural verse saying it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.” Therefore as Liberals believe we all should be poor, and rely on government for all our needs. or as Karl Marx says it, Each according to his needs…
Republicans choose to try to instead to make everyone rich by encourging an ownership society.

Beyond what Dean ment by quoting that scripture, the Lord did not mean everyone should be poor. The Lord more accurately was incourging us to use our wealth and power, which is given to us by the Lord, eather through God given hard work, inginuity, or luck and for good in the world. That is what Americans and Republicans do and the Lord has blessed our country with more wealth.

I’m not saying the poor are lazey, not intelligent or lucky. God knows I’m not wealthy myself. But the Lord gives us what we need. Caritable giving has never been greater in the USA. There has never been as many Faith based programs to help our fellow man than there is now (and there needs to be more). The point is in the USA, the poor are not alone and don’t need the government to answer their needs when their are programs right in their own towns.

  2. ”It’s not about Republicans and Democrats, but about democracy that works,”

Then tell your Senate buddies to stop threatening to shut down the government if the Republicans choose to follow the constitutional option in conferming judicial nominees. Let the vote up or down happen.

  3. It’s odd that he would bring up the whole “rich man passing through the eye of a needle” thing as a way to “needle” the Republicans. Does anyone else remember a couple of years back when there was an independent study listing the 50 richest people on Capitol Hill? Only 5 of 50 were Republicans. As with many things, it’s primarily the Democrats that are dirty, stinking rich, but they know how to cry poor mouth alot better.

  4. ManicTom and Steve,

If I don’t hear from you guys before Easter, hope you both have a Happy Easter.

Tom, you nailed it with the “rich Republican” myth. Yes, the Pew Research Center back in 2002 measured campaign contributions to the two major parties. The GOP did raise more money than the Democrats; however, the bulk of Dems’ donations were big money donations (i.e. from the wealthy), and the bulk of the donations for the GOP were small money donations (i.e. from lower and middle income Americans).

Translation: the Dems were financed almost exclusively by limousine liberals and unions…the wealthy. The GOP was funded mostly by average Americans.

Anybody out there that doesn’t believe it? Then explain how flyover country (i.e. the red states, middle-class America) votes en bloc for the GOP everytime. And for once, see if you can explain it without impugning normal average Americans.
