Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Hilldawg: “I helped start Media Matters”. MM: “No she didn’t!”

From Newsbusters:

As NewsBusters reported Sunday, the leftwing organization responsible for the recent smear campaigns against Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly, Media Matters, has direct ties to the Clintons.

To be sure, folks on the left, and in the media that support them, will either deny this connection, or ignore it.

In the end, that’s going to be hard to do, for on August 4, while speaking at the YearlyKos convention in Chicago, the junior senator from New York boasted of “institutions that I helped to start and support like Media Matters and Center for American Progress.”

Sounds like the junior senator confirmed my contention from Sunday: “Hillary and her backers have created an advocacy network whose expressed goal is to take down all of her critics in the media.

In yet another instance of Media Matters making false claims, the left-wing group has issued several denials that it is tied to Hillary and Bill Clinton.

But in true Clintonian fashion, these denials are hardly that at all. Here is the phrase that the group keeps falling back on:

“Media Matters for America is a ‘progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.’ The Center for American Progress identifies itself on its website as ‘a progressive think-tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action.’”

Of course this means nothing whatsoever as far as Hillary Clinton goes. And yet in typical disreputable MM fashion, the far left group has repeatedly referenced it in subsequent articles as a denial of a Clinton connection.

Apparently Media Matters can’t even quote itself in context!

We can’t help but wonder how the group tries to spin and distort this flat-out statement of involvement from Clinton.

Either (a) Shrillary is having an Al Gore “I invented the Internet” moment and falsely claiming credit for that which she is not due; or (b) Media Morons is lying by denying Her Highness’ intimate relationship with them. Considering both have a track record of lying, it’s hard to say which one is “facts-impaired and truth-deficient” on this one.

Wonders Bryan at Hot Air:

Doesn’t that make them an adjuct part of her campaign for the presidency? What does McCain-Feingold have to say about this arrangement? And has Norman Hsu’s Ponzi scheme money funded any part of Media Matters? These are the questions that the MSM that regurgitates Media Matters press release attacks as if they’re actual news will not ask and doesn’t want answered.

Government school district cancels American holiday traditions to sooth bruised Muslim ego

Government schools are at it again. The source of today’s “journey into dhimmitude” is brought to you by blue state Illinois:

A southwest suburban school district has taken action, responding to the concerns of a Muslim parent.

But now, as CBS 2′s Suzanne Le Mignot reports, other parents are angry that traditional school holidays will be renamed or even eliminated.

“That does not represent all the Muslims, all of the Arabs at that school,” said Qais Nofel, the father of a student in Ridgeland School District 122.

There was some heated discussion between parents outside Columbus Manor Elementary School in Oak Lawn on Friday. The thought of no more traditional holiday celebrations has many parents really upset.

For now, children in Ridgeland School District 122 will celebrate fall festival instead of Halloween and winter festival instead of Christmas.

Brenda Elvidge said, “It’s not fair to our kids. This is America and that’s an American tradition.”

Those issues along with the holiday controversy are going to be addressed at a school board meeting on Tuesday. Members will decide if holidays will be celebrated or not.

Meantime, the Illinois PTA district director says the state is now investigating this issue and there’s a meeting with the superintendent next week.

Just one Muslim gets her burqa in a bunch, little Mohammed has his inner jihadist wounded, and the entire school district surrenders quicker than the French army. Aside from the obvious “offending Christians is OK but offending Muslims is verboten” lesson is the lesson that P.C. idiots put into positions of power and influence will pervert normal America every chance they get.

Rush’s “phony soldier” flap

This is probably the only time I’m going to bring this up, because the MSM and the left (pardon the redundancy) will be keeping this going for a while. Last week on his show, Rush Limbaugh was talking to a caller, and the following exchange took place (note that this exchange wasn’t Dowdified like the Media Morons and BowelMovement.org have done):

RUSH: It’s not possible intellectually to follow these people.

CALLER: No, it’s not. And what’s really funny is they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout to the media.

RUSH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER: The phony soldiers. If you talk to any real soldier and they’re proud to serve, they want to be over in Iraq, they understand their sacrifice and they’re willing to sacrifice for the country.

RUSH: They joined to be in Iraq.

RUSH: It’s frustrating and maddening, and why they must be kept in the minority. I want to thank you, Mike, for calling. I appreciate it very much.

John F’ing Kerry (who is rumored to have served in Vietnam) called Limbaugh’s remarks “disgusting and an embarrassment.” Yeah, the same Kerry who completely made up stories about atrocities he allegedly saw in ‘Nam (and later admitted he never saw it, but just heard about it). The same Kerry whose famous “cut of ears, cut off limbs, fashion reminiscent of Jenjiss Khan, etc.” lies earned him the praise and adoration of the guys he served with to the point that these guys sank his presidential aspirations faster than a Ted Kennedrunk car. Yeah, that guy.

And Tom Harkin says wonders if Rush “was just high on his drugs again.” Tee-hee-hee…funny, considering that Harkin is himself a “phony war hero”, too!

Sen. Harry “Land Shark” Reid wants a Senate resolution of condemnation, and has dared uttered these words:

Reid stated that he is confident that “Republicans join with us in overwhelming numbers,” arguing that “anything less would be a double standard that has no place in the United States Senate.”

“Double standard”, Reid? You mean like showing outrage to someone like Limbaugh but not at ABC News for talking about the very same thing? You mean like being torqued about Limbaugh referencing these DOJ “phony soldier” prosecutions (Operation Stolen Valor)? Is that the kind of double standard to which you refer, you sanctimonious pile of chicken squeeze? No damned wonder your approval ratings are at 19%!

This is simple and requires no further explanation, and to reject this is to reject reality: the “phony soldiers” to which Limbaugh referred are people like Jesse Macbeth, Micah Wright, Scott Beauchamp, the perps in Operation Stolen Valor, and others who are not only against the war (nothing wrong with that), but who are against the war and totally fabricate credentials and events that simply are not true and never happened. Is Reid defending Macbeth and the other shameful liars, or is he just willfully disregarding facts and reality the way that the left always does? You tell me.

Besides, is there anything more disingenuous for a leftist like Reid to pretend to care about the troops? Reid says that they’ve already lost the war, and he defends Abscam Jack Murtha who has slandered our troops and branded them as “cold-blooded killers” (and Abscam Jack is currently being sued for such defamation). Reid has done everything within his power to secure defeat so as to gain political power. And Reid has the temerity to pretend to care about the soldiers? Un-freakin’-believable.
