More AP poll manipulation
I’m guessing the AP thought it could get away with this. From Michelle Malkin:
I saw the headline yesterday: “Poll: Most OK birth control for schools.”
Here’s what the AP emphasized–the soundbite that got recycled on the nightly news and radio briefs endlessly over the last 24 hours:Sixty-seven percent support giving contraceptives to students, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll. About as many — 62 percent — said they believe providing birth control reduces the number of teenage pregnancies.
Only guess what?
There’s much more to the poll results than the dumbed-down soundbites suggest.
Sweetness and Light deconstructs the spin, including this telling tidbit:That certainly explains quite a bit, doesn’t it?
Two suggestions here: (1) How about a poll that asks only parents of school-aged kids what they think?; and (2) if you’re not the parent of a school-aged child, how about a steaming cup of STFU latté with cinnamon sprinkles?
Nope…no liberal media bias!

One of the stories covering this poll that I saw stated that most parents agreed to the contraceptive program if it would only go to students to whom the parents had given consent.
How is it they expect that to work when you do not have to notify parents, much less require consent, for abortions in many states? How long until some liberal nutbag challenges that by using the case law for abortion and completely removes parents from trying to prevent their children from egaging in sexual activity at the age of tweleve. I am sure they could get some liberal judge to agree that it is the childrens right to privacy and a personal choice, not to be infringed upon by someone such as thier parents.

I see this giving of contraceptives to minors as encouraging irresponsible behavior.
The school officials are basically saying have fun kiddo just don’t get caught.
We’ll make sure mom and dad never spoil your fun tee hee!
I however notice that they are more concerned with preventing teen pregnancy rather than STDs.
I believe that only the parents should handle sex education not the public schools.

I agree, but the left will tell you that parents either are incapable or will not do so, thus it takes a village. In otherwords, you NEED the government to do this for you because you are incapable or unwilling to do it yourself.
Besides, how can you expect a 12 year old child to make responsible decisions? Especially, when you consider the endless assault on morality and parents that the left is waging. When religion is not allowed to dictate moral behavior and the children are taught that everything must be acceptable and you cannot jusdge anyone based upon your own morality, then obviously these children are not allowed to be responsible and make proper moral decisions.

Yep, no liberal media bias whatsoever!

Yes, let’s give 11 year old birth control, but only if they are offspring of leftist twits. That should solve the problem her in the next generation or so.
/sarcasm off.
Giving small children birth control is tantamount to saying it’s OK to have sex.

Jenn’s right. What other conclusion can you make?
