Well the Mexican Government’s Hypocrisy is amusing if it weren’t for the fact that our elected officials don’t have the balls to call them on it.
I have one thing to say to the Mexican Government “SHUT UP!” and follow your own advice!
As an American I don’t have to listen to your self-righteous blather about human rights when you won’t even take care of the people in your country.
The illegal alien problem would go away if the Mexican Government would take care of Mexico’s poor instead of shirking their responsibilities on the US and blaming us for their suffering!
In fact they should try to fix their economic problems instead of denying the problem!

Welcome, Micah. You bring up good points.

I would guess that King’s bill would be constitutional on the grounds that border integrity is a federal role, and that the federal government can assert that role over states that knowingly ignore it. Plus, I think your guess that violation of federal law gives the feds jurisdiction is correct.

While I don’t think it’s logical to give people who are in the country illegally a legal document (why not arrest them instead, for instance?), do you know how King is going to work his bill to make it constitutional? I was under the impression that the Federal Government only had jurisdiction over interstate issues.

Hmmm. Maybe the fact that the people in question have violated Federal Law gives Congress jurisdiction.
