“Religion of peace” wants death sentence for teacher
A British teacher in the Sudan had a teddy bear in her class in the Sudan. The students named the bear “Muhammed”, after one of the students in the class. The predictable happens:
Hundreds of protesters brandishing swords and sticks gathered outside Khartoum’s presidential palace Friday to vent their anger against a British teacher jailed for allowing children to name a teddy bear “Mohammed.”
An undated amateur photo of Gillian Gibbons, who has been found guilty of insulting religion.
About 600 Islamic demonstrators piled out of mosques, chanting: “By soul, by blood, I will fight for the Prophet Mohammed.” Some of the protesters demanded the teacher’s execution, according to The Associated Press.
The agency reports that some chanted: “No tolerance: Execution,” and “Kill her, kill her by firing squad.”
Got that? Naming your child “Muhammed” is A-OK, but naming a toy bear “Muhammed” is grounds for appearing before a firing squad. It doesn’t take much to get the camelhumping weirbeards’ bloodlust flowing, does it?

I’m so sick of the jihadists and their perpetual offendedness!
Comment by Kanaka Girl | November 30, 2007
I’m surprised that the MSM even mentioned this story. I have yet to see a response from the supposedly “moderate” Muslim majority regarding this particular incident.
Their warped sense of justice is just too insanely evil to ever comprehend. It underscores the fact that no amount of dialog will ever bring about “peace” with this organized mob of hate mongers.
Comment by DoubleD | November 30, 2007
It’s the religion of “piece(s)” not peace.

For most of the History of the last 1500 years, the Islamic world has been the center of culture and wisdom in the world.
When the Christian World was going through the Dark ages, it was contact with the Islamic World that helped bring back sanity to the West.
How far the Islamic world has fallen when Muslims are willing to kill a foreigner to their world for making a cultural foux pas. I imagine what we’re experiencing is similar to what they must have gone through during the Crusades.

“I imagine what we’re experiencing is similar to what they must have gone through during the Crusades.”
If you are suggesting that “we” somehow deserve this because of the Crusades (which occurred by the way from 1095-1291) then I must say that you sir have lost your mind. I suppose though that you would also agree that “we” should pay reparations to african american families becuase of the fact that their ancestors “may” have been slaves.–Equally ridiculous.
Under these theories–I want my Kindergarten teacher to send me some money because one day she spanked me in class and I cried.
My head hurts over this comment.

I really think those far leftists if they had the same authority that these Jihad crazy guys have they’d put me before a firing squad for disagreeing with their pet ideologies!

Moderate Islamist——No such thing, don’t/doesn’t exist………….never will.
Murph, I think you may have misinterpreted what Steve said, I believe he was just making a comparison to what happened to the innocents during the Crusades. I could be wrong (it happened once before) but that is the way I read it.
The world that existed BEFORE Islam came along, the “craddle of civilization” ceased after those people became slaves to their religion. Since that time, the only thing they have produced is oil; which they didn’t find or extract without western help.
It must be fine to name your son Muhammad since every other swinging dik born in that world gets tagged with the name.

Well said Lee.
A little note about the “Dark Ages”. That term has been used to describe the intelligence of the people of that era (especially in Western Europe), but it was actually more about the physical environment of the times.
There are several great documentaries done by the BBC and Terry Jones (of Monty Python fame) about the “Barbarians”, “The Crusades”, and “Medieval Times”.
Comment by DoubleD | December 1, 2007
Merph, you completely misinterpreted what my point was. Thanks for the support Lee, you are dead on. The point I was trying to make is how far a Historically Great Civilization, one that has given to us Algebra, great architecture, philosophy, literature, medicine and science has fallen when they wish a non Muslim, a foreigner who is ignorant to the culture and religion to be put to death for the harmless foux pas of allowing students to name a child’s toy, used to educate, after their prophet.
I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT MEAN THAT BECAUSE THE CRUSADES, WE HAD THIS COMING!!! I’m by no means saying because we did it, it is okay of the Muslims now. I’m pointing out how History is repeating itself. How we can learn from history.
My statement also was meant to show hope. We (the Christian Western Civilization) some how survived a similar period of religious lunacy. A time period when Christians were told by the religious leaders of the time that all your sins would be forgiven and you’ll go straight to heaven for killing Muslims. A similar message the radical Imams and Mullahs make to day to the Muslim world. They survived the Crusades and so will we survive this. Eventually, sanity will reign again. And those who are sane will win.

I think it should be noted why the Crusades occurred. It all began with the Arab conquest of Palestine in the seventh century. In the decades that followed, Muslim invasions became commonplace in the Middle East.
Stop and take note: Muslim invasions and conquest in the Middle East, specifically the Holy Land, was commonplace.
In the year 1009, the Fatimid Caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah ordered the Church of the Holy Sepulchre destroyed. Pilgrims to the Holy Land were captured and clergy were killed.
Stop and take note: Muslims were destroying Christian churches, capturing people who were only guilty of making a pilgramage to the Holy Land, and (of course) killing clergy.
Whenever I hear (or read) people’s opinions about the Crusades, I wonder how many of them realize that they didn’t begin out of some Christian belief that all other religions should be erradicated (unlike some religions of “peace” have always advocated). Rather, they began as a response to the continual marauding of Christians at the hands of Muslims.
How Christians became the perpetual bad-guys is beyond me.
