Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Shrillary’s “Pots and kettles” accusations

The woman has no shame, does she?  Pot, meet kettle:

Hillary Rodham Clinton suggested Monday that Barack Obama has too little experience and perhaps too much ambition, pressing an increasingly aggressive campaign against her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Both candidates were in Iowa, one month before the nation’s leadoff caucuses with new polls showing Obama had whittled away her early lead and they were virtually tied among Democrats in the state.

“So you decide which makes more sense: Entrust our country to someone who is ready on day one … or to put America in the hands of someone with little national or international experience, who started running for president the day he arrived in the U.S. Senate,” Clinton said.

Barry O, and not Her Highness, has “too much ambition”?  Barry O, and not Her Highness, “started running for president the day she arrived in the U.S. Senate”?  Her Highness says that Barry O is the one who is lacking in “national and international experience”?  Aside from being married to a serial philanderer who has diddled the world over, just what, pray tell, does this hag consider her landmark “international experience” moments?

By the way, check out this quote from The Breck Girl:

“I want to confess to all of you right now,” Edwards said. “In third grade I wanted to be two things: I wanted to be a cowboy and I wanted to be Superman.“

In other words, John Edwards wanted to be in The Village People.  I suppose that would explain the leather #ssless chaps in his closet.

Divorce causes global “warming”

I frequently look to see what else can be linked to that junk science fad known as global “warming”, and now I have something else to blame it on: divorce.

UNHAPPY couples used to stick together for the sake of the kids. Now they can make the best of a bad marriage in the name of being environmentally friendly.

Scientists have quantified for the first time the extent to which divorce damages the environment. The researchers found that the combined use of electricity across the two new households created rose 53% while water use was up by 42%.

Stay with that henpecking shrew of a woman or that abusive bum of a man.  The planet’s future depends on it.

MSM fawns over Shrillary’s “leadership during crisis”

I think I’m going to vomit.  Hat tip to Arclightzero, news story via AP:

When the hostages had been released and their alleged captor arrested, a regal-looking Hillary Rodham Clinton strolled out of her Washington home, the picture of calm in the face of crisis.

Oh. My. God (insert more “inclusive” deity here).

“Regal-looking”?  “Picture of calm in the face of crisis”?  I reckon so, on account of she wasn’t even at the friggin’ “hostage crisis” location!  Law enforcement took care of the whole thing, and all she had to do was make phone calls and say “Carry on, then.” The writer, Glen Johnson, really should go get a room or something (or go teach journalism students) with such a vulgar public display of affection.

CO government school suspends student for…not liking some other students

My friends, I have mentioned on numerous occasions that so-called “hate crimes” laws are nothing more than criminalizing thoughts, not actions.  After all, we should punish violent criminals for commiting acts of violence, irrespective of their motives (wealth envy, bigotry, etc.).  Lo and behold, this is an example of what happens when you criminalize thought:

PARKER, Colo. — A seventh-grade Sagewood Middle School student is facing disciplinary action from school administrators for compiling a list of those he dislikes.

“I can confirm to you that a student did indeed make a list that contained the names of fewer than five students. As a result, appropriate action was taken with the student, “ said Ralph Montgomery, Sagewood Middle School principal.

Montogmery said the specifics of what disciplinary actions the student is facing will not be released due to privacy laws.

Administrators became aware of the rumors Nov. 21 during the holiday break, which prompted an investigation and the distribution of the letter written by Montogmery, said Whei Wong, spokeswoman for Douglas County.

A letter was sent to parents of Sagewood Middle School students Friday “because of the rumors that were circulating,” said Whei Wong, spokeswoman for Douglas County.

“I believe a student came forward about the list. Claimed to have seen the list a week prior to telling any adult about it,” said Wong when asked about how school administrators learned of the letter.

In the letter sent to parents, Montogmery wrote “I want to assure you of the safety of your children while at Sagewood. I can tell you, Sagewood leaders have worked closely with Douglas County School District security to ensure that your students and our staff are safe. We are safe.”

Wong said the parents of those mentioned in the list were notified.

“We determined there apparently was no threat or intent to harm anyone,” said Wong

Wong was not sure when the seventh-grade boy would be allowed to return to school.

Got that?  It’s now a no-no in government schools for you to dislike other kids, or at the very least, writing down the names on your own paper of kids you don’t like.  What’s the remedy here, to force all kids to like everyone?  Un-freakin’-believable!

WA government school district omits Christmas from “Important Dates”

If you honestly believe that this was just a mere oversight, I’ve got some seaside property in Nebraska to sell you.  From FNC:

SPOKANE, Wash. —  They made a list, but they should have checked it twice.

In a December newsletter to the families of elementary school students, Spokane Public Schools’ list of “important dates” didn’t include Christmas.

Hanukkah, Human Rights Day (WTF? – Ed.), winter break, the Islamic holy day Eid al-Adha, first day of winter and Kwanzaa all made the list. But no Christmas.

“It was absolutely an error of omission,” district spokeswoman Terren Roloff said. “In our efforts to be inclusive, we missed the obvious.”

By “inclusive”, they mean “not associated in any way with normal traditions, especially Western-centric ones.” Glad I could clear that up for you.

Exit question: If they omitted Christmas from their “Important Dates” list, does that mean the educrats plan on working on Christmas Day?

TNR states obvious conclusion: Our Beauchamp story was total crap

Fait accompli, my friends.  The shameful saga of The New Republic has culminated in the only way it could have: TNR has had to admit they can no longer stand behind their story.  In other words, their Scott Beauchamp “Winter Soldier”esque story was a steaming pile of bovine feces.

Between the conflict of interest, the hopelessly shameful biased coverage, their reliance on a single slanderous source who, oh by the way, happens to be a Bush-bashing barking moonbat and pathalogical liar), and their inability to perform some basic fact-checking (you know, that thing that the MSM sneers about when denigrating us bloggers?), TNR was doomed on this Ahab-like journey of theirs.  Their credibility is forever ruined, and if there were any justice in this world, their editor-in-chief Franklin Foer would go the way of Dan Rather.

Michelle Malkin has complete coverage here.  The good guys won this round, folks.

Chavez referendum a “No”

Polls heading into the referendum showed a fairly sizeable lead among the “No” voters who didn’t want Venezuelan socialist tinpot dictator Hugo Chavez to expand his dictatorial powers, including a “me for life” clause.  When the actual votes were counted (and undoubtedly counted again and again), the margin was narrower: 51% voted “no”, and 49% voted “yes”.  Story here.

I’m thrilled the referendum failed, despite Chavistas’ attempts at vote fraud.  Time will tell if he’ll honor their wishes or not.  I’m not holding my breath.

Non-political: BCS title game (and other bowl games) set

For those of you who aren’t college football fans, feel free to ignore this post and move on to the next one.

Since the major division of college football can’t do the right thing and have a playoff like every other division of every other sport has, they concoct this monster called the “BCS”.  Well, you can’t spell “BCS” without “BS”, now can you?  Anywho, the BCS national championship game will be Ohio State (11-1) vs. Louisiana State (11-2).

While I do think the right two teams are in the title game, I think it’s a travesty that since we don’t have a playoff, hot teams like Georgia (10-2), Southern Cal (10-2), and Oklahoma (10-2), each of whom make compelling cases as to why they should get a shot, are left out in the cold.  Let’s not forget the lone undefeated program in college football in Hawaii (12-0), and the only other one-loss team in Kansas (11-1).  Instead, all of those other teams are bound for other BCS bowls, and the runner-up in the Big 12 conference (Missouri), who was ranked #1 just two days ago, is not even going to a BCS bowl game.

We need a playoff, period.  Whether it be a four-team, six-team, or eight-team playoff, it can and should be done.  We have a complete mess this year, and I for one am happy to see it implode like this.
