I remember being in High School and I said I disliked everyone at school and it was mainly because they were horrible and mistreated me!

You’d think they’d be more interested in discipling bullies than going after a disgruntled kid who probably didn’t get along with his classmates for probably the very same reason I didn’t like my classmates.

He could have been angry and made that list out of anger are they punishing him for expressing anger.

It seems a bit heavy-handed to suspend a kid over writing down names of people he doesn’t like, on the assumption that he might try and kill them, doesn’t it?

but it’s probably part of the zero-tolerance plan.

In 100% of the cases I’ve seen, “zero-tolerance” is the same thing as “zero common sense.” Anything from “aspirin is the same as heroin” to “drawing a water pistol is the same thing as plotting the next Columbine”, which are all patently ludicrous.

When I was an emotionally underdeveloped (some say I still am! ) kid, I would doodle and write down (or draw) people I didn’t like, usually with some circle-and-slash, or flames on their heads, or whatever. I never tried to have them killed, nor did I need a shrink or a government school-enforced “time out”. This is, in my view, criminalizing thought or, even worse, criminalizing perceived thought.
