Hispanics beat white fireman, utter racial epithet, but no “hate crime”
From the People’s Republic of Taxachusetts:
A Boston firefighter is mending from what could have been deadly stab wounds he suffered early yesterday morning when he was allegedly jumped in East Boston while off duty by a group of Hispanic males who told him they “don’t want any gringo here.”
Though police are not classifying the incident as racially fueled, the Boston Police Department’s Community Disorders Unit is investigating. The 32-year-old jake, whose name officials were not releasing, is white.
Let me get this straight: some Latino gangbangers beat up a white guy and said they “don’t want any gringo here”, and police don’t see any racial aspect? Of course not…it’s open season on white guys, right?
This is one of many reasons I despise so-called “hate crimes” legislation. The main reason is because it criminalizes thought, i.e. it is worse to assault or kill someone because of their race than because of other factors (they dress funny, they have more money, etc.). The second biggest reason is because punishment invariably (as this case shows) will not be applied consistently, but in a politically correct manner. All of us with at least two functioning brain cells knew that would happen, and we were correct.

I don’t think anyone will take racism seriously thanks to this double standard bullcrap!
A lot of fools believe that in order to be a racist you must wield some kind of power be it economic or political.
I find that definition of racism to be very inaccurate.
To me if you hate someone because of the color of their skin or ethnicity you are a racist regardless of whether you wield any political or economic power.
I have a question for the P.C. pea-brains which racist is the one you should worry about the most.
The racist who just makes insensitive jokes or the racist who has a position of power.
My brother told me a white kid got beaten up for saying he didn’t like black people.
Though I find the boy’s racist views to be offensive I doubt beating him up would make him any less racist or cause a change of heart within him.
If anything those black students didn’t cure the kid of his racist views rather they have actually given him a real reason not to like black people and reinforce his prejudiced views against blacks.
I’m scared that these racist idiots(I’m referring to all minority groups who are favored by the left as well as whites) who belong to a protected class are gonna cause more racial strife than cure it.
I hate the term minority it’s very demeaning and I consider myself American first and foremost.

I’m certainly not in favor of racists, but I think circumstances need to be looked at as well.
Much like the commenter before me, I believe that beating up the racist will only make the situation worse.
However, why are those Latinos responding in that way in the first place? Could it be that maybe they themselves have been beaten, mistreated, and misrepresented by whites? And as for being a “protected class”? They are by no means a protected class, if you were a first suspect for almost any crime, simply because you’re not Caucasian, you wouldn’t be too fond of white people either. And I’ll tell you not to argue with me on these issues above because I live with them everyday.
I live in a small, white, poverty ridden town populated by loggers and mill workers. I myself am white as snow, and that’ sadly no exaggeration. My step-father is from Guam, but everyone in town thinks he’s Mexican. I don’t think many of the people on this site can relate to the kind of treatment that dark skin will get you in a small white-bred town. We couldn’t get out of Walmart without getting checked, every time. Women would hold their purses close and on the other side of them, and you could hear people making racial comments. So of course this makes you emotionally hostile, and in the Latino case physically, towards white people. I myself have lost it, and yelled at a few people at school.
Of course I’d be a hypocrite to not dissect why the white people are doing this. And I can give you a completely honest answer that I’ve experienced to be true within my own extended family: Mommy and daddy taught them that people of non-Caucasian origins are criminals. That they’re trying to take over America. Or maybe they themselves had a traumatic experience with a minority person.
But what this all boils down to is that no one should be acting this way in the first place, which I believe the poster should have said and may have been hinting at (hopefully). These Latinos should not have beaten and shanked this white guy, but ya know what? There’s a deeper root that no one wants to fix. The post does not address how to fix the bigger problem, but criticizes what the problem was addressed as. A crime is a crime. Personally, I’m more concerned with how to fix the problems that what they’re classified as. And before you angrily respond to this with sentence times, statistics interference, and your opinion on the corrupt justice system, I’d like you to think about the why, and the methods to fix these problems, because the current system is obviously not working.

Good point…the white guy had the assbeating coming to him. Better?
And as for being a “protected class”? They are by no means a protected class…
This is so preposterous it barely warrants a response, but since I’ve got a couple of moments to waste, I’ll try. Yes, they ARE a protected class, in the realm of political correctness. They say “gringo”, and people like you explain away their bigotry. If I uttered a slur (such as “wetback”), the thought police would be all over me like Ted Kennedy on a brandy sniffer.
By the way, here’s a hint for you. When you say stuff like this:
“These Latinos should not have beaten and shanked this white guy”
…followed by this:
“but ya know what? There’s a deeper root that no one wants to fix.”
…the second part pretty much negates the first part. In other words, you try to feign outrage by the obligatory “I’m not saying that what they did was right”, but then you try to say what they did was right by your follow-up of “but then again, if you look at the root cause…” That’s like saying “I’m not saying that gay-bashing is OK, but you know, if those dudes would just stop doing that sick stuff to each other, they wouldn’t have to worry about it.” The words after “but” indicate that you’re going to defend that what you claim to abhor.

You know we differentiate crimes based on thoughts all the time. The difference between first degree murder and manslaughter only has to do with what the perpetrator thought about when she committed the crime. The argument that crimes should not be differentiated by their intentions is absurd. A hate crime is not only an attack on the person hurt but on the entire community of people with the characteristics for which that victim was targeted. Double-standards suck, but hate-crime laws are not the problem.

OK, they beat and STAB a member of a diffrent race, shout racial epithets at him, and it’s NOT a “hate crime?” What did I miss here?
Gee, the next time a white or African American fireman goes into a burning building inhabited by Mexican illegals I guess it’d be OK to let them burn to death, right? Public servants put their lives on the line, and these are the thanks they get? Incredible. Even the cops – also sworn public-safety officials – turned their back on this guy. Did he have to die for them to take it seriously? BTW, no arrests were ever made in this case – the perps are still out there!

We moved to a very Hispanic area (being white) and my kid was assaulted on DAY TWO at school by a couple of Hispanics that said the exact same kinds of things.. “White people don’t belong here” and “go back home, gringo”
The school basically said “well, he is the white kid..”
If he had done the same thing, La Raza and the other Hispanic advocacy groups would be up in arms.
It’s a huge double standard, and I am now *very* against illegal immigration after seeing how the Hispanics (usually Mexicans) have been acting around here. All the years of ‘diversity’ I was taught in California? Worthless. We’re being invaded and pushed out, and it needs to stop.

Uh…what? Try English, Pepé. It makes your idiocy easier to decipher.
OUR COUNTRY THAT WAS FOUND BY MY ANCESTORS FROM SPAIN
Spain stole the land from the Indians, and America won a war and had the land given to them via the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The Indians have a more valid claim than you do, Jorgé.
