It is certainly unfortunate, h.i.a. I think the reason is this: There are more barbaric acts commited in the name of Islam than any other religion, and it seems that the peaceful Muslims out there do not condemn these barbaric acts loudly or frequently enough. This failure to not only condemn terrorism, but to assist in rooting out terrorists, gives us Americans the impression that Muslims must, by and large, condone terrorism…or they’re too afraid to combat terrorism. Either way, that’s unacceptable.

I think you would find that Americans are very receptive to peaceful Muslims, if only we could see more of them who are vocal in our shared outrage. If you condemn these savages and say they are perverting your religion, then you are a friend to Americans (including me).

I think you are forgetting that there are Muslims who do not follow the laws of their religion, just as there are Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. who do not follow the laws of their respective religions.
