I can only imagine what Megan’s parents are feeling right now. They abide by a system that has seriously let them down. It frustrates me to no end. If NJ had to go through with this it should have been from now on, they couldn’t sentence anyone to death. All the previous sentences should be carried out.

This is truly messed up!
I guess they believe the death penalty is cruel however what of the murder victims isn’t their fate pretty cruel.
Having some sadistic monster torture and murder an innocent person and receive no punishment that is on the same level of severity of the crime.

If they wanna ban the death penalty fine and dandy but don’t try and convince me that letting a murderer escape receiving their just deserts is justice.
It’s more of a joke than Justice!

The strongest arguments I have heard against the death penalty are, as you mentioned, the innocent being wrongly executed and the inconsistent application of the punishment. While Timmendequas is most certainly a vile form of slime, his sentence is a perfect example of that inconsistency.
