IN voter sues state for voter ID requirement, shows why law is needed

Dems are always on the lookout to perpetuate voter fraud, doing their best to make sure that their voters get multiple votes (vote early, vote often).  That’s why they fight like hell to make sure that laws like the one in Indiana that require some kind of proof that you are who you claim to be never get to be implemented.  It’s a lot harder to cheat that way.

Anywho, the Supreme Court is currently handling IN’s voter ID case, brought about by some ignorant wench who proves my freakin’ point!  From Hot Air:

Your delicious irony of the day comes from Florida and Indiana. The litigant who is trying to kill off Indiana’s voter ID law is a walking, talking case of potential voter fraud. She certainly appears to have broken the law by registering to vote in both Indiana and Florida, and by claiming homestead tax exemption in both states. But let’s re-write the law so she doesn’t have to provide proper ID before voting!

Irony: it’s not just for breakfast anymore.

Waffles endorses Obama

What a slap to the well-coiffed John Edwards this must be!  From Excite News:

Barack Obama is being endorsed by fellow Sen. John Kerry (who is rumored to have served in Vietnam – Ed.), the Democrats’ 2004 presidential nominee who lost to George W. Bush that year and gave up his own plans for a 2008 run a year ago.

Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, planned to announce his support Thursday at 11 a.m. EST at a rally at the College of Charleston, said a Democrat familiar with Kerry’s decision. The 2004 nominee was to argue that Obama can best unite the country and has the potential to create transformational change, the person said.

I wonder if Obama is thinking “Freakin’ wonderful…there goes the election!” Here’s hoping that Jean-Francois Heinz-Kerry’s endorsement of Obama has the same effect as Gore’s endorsement of Howard Dean had in 2004.

Environuts to sue on behalf of polar bears

To paraphrase THE Bruce Dickinson: Treehuggers have a feevah, and the only prescription is more polar bears!  From CNS News:

With the Interior Department failing to meet Wednesday’s deadline to decide whether to list the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, environmental groups say they are ready to take the federal government to court over the matter.

The Center on Biological Diversity initiated the Endangered Species Act listing process for the polar bear with a petition filed in February 2005. The group went to court in December 2005 due to a lack of action by the federal government. In December 2006, the Department of the Interior proposed listing the bear, which triggered Wednesday’s deadline.

“We are making this proposal because scientific review of the species by the Fish and Wildlife Service found that populations may be threatened by receding sea ice, which polar bears use as a platform for many activities essential to their life cycle, including hunting for their main prey, arctic seals,” Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne said when the listing was proposed.

There’s just one problem with that whole “polar bears are dying” thingy:

“The polar bear is not endangered or threatened – its numbers have gone up by five or six-fold since around 1950 as a result of changes in management and hunting,” he said. “Most of the populations seem to be doing well and prospering.

“The alleged threats to the bear are based on highly speculative computer models, and if you put in the right assumptions, you will come up with very negative consequences for the polar bear and no doubt for other species as well,” Ebell charged. “I don’t think they are scientific evidence at all,” he added calling the computer models “shaky science.”

Man, facts can just be brutal sometimes! Why do facts hate polar bears?

Man finds wife working at brothel

Today’s non-political post comes from Poland.  From FNC:

WARSAW —  A Polish man visiting a brothel was surprised to find his wife working there, Reuters reported.

The woman, who had told her husband she had been working at a store in town to make extra money, Reuters reported.

“I was dumfounded. I thought I was dreaming,” the husband told the Polish tabloid Super Express on Wednesday.

The couple reportedly are getting a divorce.

Exit question: We know the man asked his wife what she was doing there, but did she ask him the same question?

Quote of the day

From Ace, regarding the news that NATO will cut troops in Afghanistan, prompting the U.S. to send more Marines:

My guess is the Taliban and al Qaeda will be begging NATO to send more troops, hell they might even chip in some money. I mean if you were a terrorist thug, who would you want hunting your ass down, some Scandi guy in a soldier suit or a US Marine?

Semper Fi.

Hilldawg’s “experience”

On an e-mail from TNJack:

I heard that Deanna Favre (yes that’s Brett’s wife) has announced that her husband will be retiring at the end of this football season.

BUT that she will be taking over as starting quarterback next season for the Packers. After all, she knows all the plays and has travelled with her husband for 15 years so she has the experience needed!

Rumor has it that Mrs. Favre said “WE are the quarterback“, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
