Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Thousands march, MSM ignores

Had it been a protest of a dozen Code Pinkos on Walter Reed, the MSM would have been all over that like Ted Kennedy on a tray of Jello shots.  Instead, the MSM largely yawns.  From Michelle Malkin:

If they were illegal alien activists, they’d get front-page coverage, multimedia packages, and prime time on TV airwaves.

If they were anti-war activists, they’d get front-page coverage, multimedia packages, and prime time on TV airwaves.

They are pro-life activists who marched today to mark the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

You’ll be lucky to see photos like the one above buried somewhere in the back of your newspaper.

I don’t care what your view of abortion is, but you can’t deny that the double standard is quite obvious.

Nope…no liberal media bias!

Debunking the “tax cuts for the rich” myth once and for all

Economic ignorance offends me greatly, whether the ignorance is willful or not.  Her Highness has been talking about how the income tax system is “out of whack” and benefits the rich.  How quaint, coming from the woman who donated her hubby’s used underwear (God knows what kinds of stains were in those things!) to charity just to reduce her tax burden by a couple of bucks!

Anywho, the woman may not let facts get in the way of her Marxist claptrap, but here they are anyway (courtesy of Neal Boortz).

Despite what Hillary may want you to believe … and what most voters will believe to be true … a recent report shows that the tax burden on the wealthy has increased more than their incomes. The National Center for Policy Analysis says that Bush tax cuts actually made the tax code more progressive. It concludes that every major tax change over the past two decades has increased the share of taxes paid by the wealthiest Americans (AKA the evil rich).

Michael D. Stroup, a Stephen F. Austin University economist who authored the NCPA report says, “It is politically popular to say that tax cuts benefit the wealthy … The accusation does not match the reality.”

Now if you are a regular reader of Nealz Nuze, you’ve read statistics similar to these already. But how about a little refresher, just for the sake of angering Hillary Clinton.

  • The top 1 percent of income earners pay more than one in every three dollars the IRS collects in taxes. From 1986 to 2004, the total share of the income tax burden paid by the top 1 percent of earners grew from 25.8 percent to 36.9 percent, while the total share of the tax burden paid by the bottom half of earners fell from 6.5 percent to only 3.3 percent.

  • During the same period, the percentage of income the top 1 percent of tax filers paid in federal income taxes rose from 18.3 percent to 19.6 percent. By contrast, the percentage of income the bottom fifth of tax filers paid in federal income taxes dropped from 0.4 percent to zero.

  • The income share of the top 1 percent rose 7.7 percentage points, from 11.3 percent to 19 percent, while their income tax burden rose even more, by 11 percentage points, from 26 percent to 37 percent.

If you bring the figures forward from 2004 you’ll find that the total income share of the top 1% has fallen somewhat, while the percentage of taxes they pay has risen.

Hillary knows the truth here. She also knows two other things: (1) About 99% of Americans have no awareness at all of these figures; and (2) The leftist media isn’t about to rat her out on this. So she continues to lie, and it continues to work.

There.  That dead horse is officially beaten.

UN: We can’t ignore Iraq progress any more

In other news, Hell freezes over.  From al-Reuters:

We cannot ignore the recent improvements both in the security and political situation in Iraq,” Staffan de Mistura, head of the U.N. Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), said in a speech to the Security Council.

He said the reduced level of violence could be attributed to a number of factors including the increased presence of U.S. and other troops, a ceasefire declared by Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mehdi Army militia, and increased cooperation with Iraq’s neighbors.

You know that just had to hurt!

Obama has ephiphany: Bubba not truthful!

I tell ya, folks, that with that kind of perception, Obama is exactly what this country needs.  For those of you on the left, the prior sentence was sarcasm.  From My Way News:

Barack Obama challenged Bill Clinton’s truthfulness Monday in a deepening feud with the husband of Obama’s Democratic presidential rival.

Obama’s rebuke of the former president, who is still extremely popular with Democrats (what can we say? Dems love their horny liars! – Ed.), came on the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., when both Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton focused on the civil rights leader.

In an interview on ABC, Obama twice questioned Bill Clinton’s veracity.

“I have to say just broadly, you know, the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling. You know, he continues to make statements that aren’t supported by the facts, whether it’s about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq, or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas,” Obama said on “Good Morning America.”

“You know, this has become a habit,” he said. “And one of the things that I think we’re going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he’s not making statements that are factually accurate.”

Barry O, you don’t have enough hours in the day to confront Bubba on every lie he tells.

Bubba dozes off during MLK tribute

Somehow, you just know this will wind up being Bush’s fault before it’s all said and done:
