Obama knocks NAFTA but tells the Canucks not to worry about it
Canuckistan likes NAFTA. Barry O says he doesn’t. But Osamabama wants to curry favor with the Canucks, so he gets a little disingenuous about it. Details:
Barack Obama has ratcheted up his attacks on NAFTA, but a senior member of his campaign team told a Canadian official not to take his criticisms seriously, CTV News has learned. Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have been critical of the long-standing North American Free Trade Agreement over the course of the Democratic primaries, saying that the deal has cost U.S. workers’ jobs.
Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama’s campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.
The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.
Either Obama doesn’t believe NAFTA sucks but is willing to say it solely to appease the great unwashed that is the Democrat base; or he does believe NAFTA sucks and is lying to the collective faces of Canuckistan so as not to p#ss them off. Either way, that makes him a demagogue and very disingenuous…a “liar”, if you will.

“would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value”
DUH its a political campaign. You should hear the utter CRAP that both Hillary and Ballsack Osamabama are spewing in their comercials here in Texas. Hillary SUPPORTS the troops but you can see the distain she has for them in her eyes and the putrid taste it leaves in her mouth saying it. Ballsack claims that CEOs make more money in 10 nimutes than “ordinary” Americans. Lets see using a figure that I know is old, the average is 20k/yr (I think its really closer to 35k). That means that they make 120k/hr, using 2000 hrs in a year (its really 2080 but 2k makes it easier for the libs to count on their toes) that would be 240 MILLION a year. I dont know of ANY CEO whose salary is that. Some with BONUSES yes, but “ordinary” folks get bonuses too.

Empty rhetoric from the guy who promises to change the way Washington works? I can hardly believe it!

Probably the first alternative is truth – fabrications for the Dem base. He’s relatively safe in assuming that they will read no reasoned analysis of his speeches – only Daily KOS, Dhimmi Underground, etc which goes off on pure emotion – positive and fauning over anything stated by a Dem and vitriolic hate-spew over anything Rep.

NAFTA is both a curse and a blessing for each side. Don`t think for a moment that Canadians love NAFTA with a Borg mentality. Like the Americans and Mexicans, there are a number of things in that “agreement” that are nothing short of highway robbery to Canadians.
