Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Dean: we won’t bring up McCain’s age…OK, now we won’t!

Howard “The Scream” Dean was waxing eloquently about how his party is so ethical that they don’t have to mention anything about McCain’s age…right after he mentioned McCain’s age!  From ABC News:

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Thursday that swing voters participating in focus groups commissioned by the D.N.C. bring up John McCain’s age unprompted.

While knocking McCain’s “old-fashioned” views, Dean maintained that the Democratic Party was unlikely to invoke McCain’s age in the fall campaign.

“I doubt we will bring it up in the election,” said Dean, referring to the age issue. “There is somewhat of a higher ethical bar on what we do.”

“We don’t have any Lee Atwaters or Karl Roves on our side,” he added.

Yep, that Deano and the Dems are an “ethical” bunch, aren’t they?

  1. “There is somewhat of a higher ethical bar on what we do.”

Bwwaaahahahahahahahaha! What a joke. I guess it depends on what the meaning of “ethical” is……

  2. What bothers me is that soo many believe (with the MSM’s help) that the Dems have some sort of “higher ethical bar” and completely ignore the earlier dig. And how about the implied dig by Dean that the Republicans then are willing to make hey of then of Hillary’s sex and Obama’s race!

This race is going to get U-G-L-Y before it’s over!

  3. George Washington was elected our first President at the age of 67.
He was in office 8 years. So how can age be a problem for John McCain?

  4. Ron Popilek apparently cannot do math. George Washington was 57 when elected President. When he was 67, he foolishly stayed out in the wet and cold, and didn’t change his clothes. He caught pneumonia, which turned out to be fatal. He didn’t live to 68.

The state of health care was entirely different, of course. Pres. Washington’s condition was worsened by the bloodletting and other treatment he received.

McCain is from a family line that lives long, and he’s a true hero (however imperfect). He’s a far better choice than going with a freshman Senator with no accomplishments (and even no publications while he was a professor).

Perhaps someday Obama will make a good President, but if that day comes, it ought to be in the next decade or the one after that. Otherwise, Obama’s career will be cut short by his own ineptitude.
