Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Obama: GOP Senator just like a terrorist

The Unifier and Healer of Souls knows how to win friends and influence people, doesn’t he?  Here’s a quote from Barry O from the Dem debate last night, via Capt. Ed:

Afterwards, when asked about his years-long political association with unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers, Obama tried equating the Weather Underground bomber with Senator Tom Coburn:

The fact is, is that I’m also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions.

Do I need to apologize for Mr. Coburn’s statements? Because I certainly don’t agree with those either.

I doubt Senator Coburn will remain friendly with Obama after equating him to a terrorist because of a policy dispute. Coburn wanted to pass a law through legitimate democratic and political means; Ayers tried to terrorize people into policy changes by blowing up buildings, for which he remains unapologetic to this day. Does Obama really see no difference between the two? And if not, what does that say about Obama?

When he’s not busy condescending to the God-fearing rifle-carrying rubes of rural America, he spends his time crafting crappy analogies and moral equivalencies that are downright shameful.

  1. Does Obama really see no difference between the two?
And if not, what does that say about Obama?

  2. It has been a hoot reading all the “negative” msm press that last nights debate is getting from Obama supporters. I didn’t see the debate personally as I was doing something more productive, work, but reading all the angry comments from Obama’s supporters calling out Gibson and Stephanopoulos for their “hit job” has been entertaining. I thought George’s comments afterwards were spot on that these two candidates are virtually identical on ideology (Big “nanny-state” Gov, retreat and lose war on terror, raise taxes/destroy economy, weak on defense and national security, amnesty for illegal immagrants, gun control, appoint activist judges, ect) to spend a lot of time on how these two differ on policy issues would be pointless as the issues at hand as of late between the two camps are these questions about character and their associations. Had the MSM did their job in earlier debates and questioned Obama sooner about his questionable associations with radicals like Rev Wright and his friend Ayers it wouldn’t have seemed like they were piling on. It’s about time someone asked him about these issues…and it was delightfully suprising that the questions came from left not some conservative moderator.

The Times’ Brooks, posting comments less than an hour after the debate ended, predicted Democrats and particularly Obama supporters would jump all over ABC.

“I understand the complaints, but I thought the questions were excellent,” he wrote. “The journalist’s job is to make politicians uncomfortable, to explore evasions, contradictions and vulnerabilities. Almost every question tonight did that. The candidates each looked foolish at times, but that’s their own fault.”
