Global “warming” to take a decade-long hiatus

Absofreakinglutely hilarious!  From Bloomberg:

Average temperatures in areas such as California and France may drop over the next 10 years, influenced by colder flows in the North Atlantic, said a report today by the institution based in Kiel, Germany. Temperatures worldwide may stabilize in the period.

The study was based on sea-surface temperatures of currents that move heat around the world, and vary from decade to decade. This regional cooling effect may temporarily neutralize the long- term warming phenomenon caused by heat-trapping greenhouse gases building up around the earth, said Richard Wood, a research scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, a U.K. provider of environmental and weather-related services…

“If we don’t experience warming over the next 10 years, it doesn’t mean that greenhouse-gas warming is not with us,” [Noel] Keenlyside said in an interview. “There can be natural fluctuations that may mask climate change in the short term.”…

“Natural variations over the next 10 years might be heading in the cold direction,” Wood said. “If you run the model long enough, eventually global warming will win.”…

“We thought a lot about the way to present this because we don’t want it to be turned around in the wrong way,” Keenlyside said. “I hope it doesn’t become a message of Exxon Mobil and other skeptics.”  (Too late, pal. I’m all over this like Barney Frank at a Vaseline clearance sale!- Ed.)

Just so I can ensure that I’m understanding this correctly:

1.  Though mankind is supposedly frying the planet by doing what we’re doing, this frying will stop for a decade while we…um, keep doing what we’re doing?  If I have a pot of boiling water on the stove and I don’t drop the temperature on the burner, are you telling me the water will begin to cool?  Fascinating.

2.  “There can be natural fluctuations that may mask climate change”, huh?  Is it that far-fetched, then, to logically infer that there can be natural fluctuations in the climate?  You know, cycles in climate that have jack squat to do with mankind?  If there can be natural fluctuations in conditions to “mask climate change”, then by logical extension, there can be natural fluctuations IN climate changes!

3.  This is based on computer models.  So if you’re one of those global “warming” Chicken Littles, you are in quite te predicament: either accept that computer models can be fatally flawed, which they are, and this shoots to hell your Armageddon scenarios; or maintain that computer models are right, in which case your views that mankind is baking the atmosphere is destroyed with this report.  So, which is it?
