“far too many of BO’s supporters don’t remember the Carter years.”

Amen to that! One thing that always gets me chuckling when I’m at the pub is when I hear the folks who are just old enough to get in talking politics. This really happened:

I happened to overhear someone talking about what a great President Carter was. I looked over, recognized the youth of this person, and flat asked him to expand on his statement.

Once I finished explaining to him what I meant by, “Can you expand on that statement”, he wasn’t quite sure how to specifically verbalize the specific accomplishments of this great President. I asked him his age, to which he replied that he had just turned 21.

“So, you were born seven years after Carter left office. Since we now know you don’t remember firsthand, and you can’t really tell us any specific reasons as to why he was so great, can I ask who told you that Carter was a great President?”

Should his answer come as any surprise?

“My economics professor.”
