Night and Day, and back to Night…plus a new “global test”
The Obamaliar on whether Osama bin Laden warrants the death penalty, in 2007:
Obama, who has expressed reservations about capital punishment but does not oppose it, said he would support the death penalty for Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.
“The first thing I’d support is his capture, which is something this administration has proved incapable of achieving,” Obama said. “I would then, as president, order a trial that observed international standards of due process. At that point, do I think that somebody who killed 3,000 Americans qualifies as someone who has perpetrated heinous crimes, and would qualify for the death penalty. Then yes.”
Barry O about three weeks ago:
What would be important would be for us to do it in a way that allows the entire world to understand the murderous acts that he’s engaged in and not to make him into a martyr, and to assure that the United States government is abiding by basic conventions that would strengthen our hand in the broader battle against terrorism.
And finally, the Obamination today:
If he was captured alive, then we would make a decision to bring the full weight of not only US justice but world justice down on him. And, uh, I think that I’ve said this before (yeah, but you said the opposite a couple of weeks ago, oh Grand Change Bringer! – Ed.), that I am not a cheerleader for the death penalty … I think it has to be reserved for only the most heinous crimes, but I certainly think that plotting and engineering the death of 3,000 Americans justifies such an approach.
“Excuse me, barista? I would like to order a tall latté-freaking-dah!”
First of all, is US justice insufficient, to the point that we need to pass Kerry’s global test of “world justice”? I mean, that little gem pretty much negates the rest of his point, since the much of the world (especially the Euros he wants us to emulate) has abolished the death penalty. So how, pray tell, do we implement this apparently coveted ”world justice” if we off him with capital punishment?
This moron reminds me of summer weather patterns here in Jacksonville, FL: if you don’t like it, just wait 15 minutes and you’re bound to get something different.

The solution is to bring Obama’s, er, excuse, me, I mean Osama’s corpse in for an autopsy rather than a trial. (I just love plans that screw over the Euros.)
World justice my ass. If there were such a thing, radical Islamic terrorists would be extinct!
