Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Madame Speaker Superwoman

You peons want lower gas prices because you’re feeling the pinch in your pocketbooks?  San Fran Nan will have none of that kind of selfishness!  From Politico:

With fewer than 20 legislative days before the new fiscal year begins Oct. 1, the entire appropriations process has largely ground to a halt because of the ham-handed fighting that followed Republican attempts to lift the moratorium on offshore oil and gas exploration. And after promising fairness and open debate, Pelosi has resorted to hard-nosed parliamentary devices that effectively bar any chance for Republicans to offer policy alternatives.

I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet,” she says impatiently when questioned. “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.” (Because Pe-loco’s policy, which doubled the cost of gas, has been a smashing success, right? – Ed.)

She could have just stopped at “I will not have this debate.”  It would have been more honest.

Save the planet from what, exactly?  The Bay Area Botox Batty Bimbo doesn’t tell us.  But presumably, whatever it is that you want them to do in order to alleviate our dependence on foreign oil must be bad for the planet…so get used to $4+ gas.

  1. If Kucinich really wants to impeach someone, he ought to start with her! The Queen of Treason is really starting to piss me off!

  3. When she led the Dems to their majority, she ran on lower gas prices (then just $2.00 per gallon).

Now, “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”

Whose failed policies? Republicans or Democrats are trivial?

At least when Newt led the Republicans to their Majority in ’94, he acted and passed all 10 issues that they ran on. When the Republicans moved away from those 10 issues, was when they lost their majority, and the Dems pointed ran them on throw them out.

Now it’s time to do the same.

  4. Okay, folks. I’m here again. There are a lot of people complaining about Nancy Pelosi here, including me.

I need TWO favors from each of you. First favor, I know we all read different blogs. Please cut and paste everything between the “*****” to as many blogs as you can.

Second, follow the directions between the “*****”. We really need to act together, folks. Nancy is ignoring the will of the people. There is only one way to change that: public outcry.

The same outcry that shut down the switchboards at the Capitol when these clowns were debating the Amnesty bill last year. Conservatives can do it, but ONLY if we take some time to make it happen.

Please post everything from here on into the comments of as many different blogs as you can find. Tell the posters and commentators there to keep posting it elsewhere. Spread it over the Internet. Don’t mention me, this isn’t an advertisement, it’s an organization.

Can you all please, for me, take three minutes today, call this number: (202) 225-0100 and leave the following message:

Ms. Pelosi, I am calling today to express my extreme disappointment with the way you are ignoring the American people you claim to represent. The American public does not want the Strategic Oil Reserve broken into because we understand that the oil in the SOR is specifically earmarked for military use to protect our country. We ask you to stop playing political games with our wallets and approve legislation to drill in American territory, including off our coasts and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. We have 700 billion barrels of oil in our lands. It is ridiculous of you to pretend that seventy million barrels will reduce our costs at the pump while still claiming that drilling for that bounty will not.

Your actions and how they affect our country will be remembered at the next election. I strongly suggest you make better decisions in the future if you wish to continue to hold public office in this country.

Look folks, Nancy is a POLITICIAN. Worse, she is a LIBERAL. She doesn’t care about the environment. She doesn’t care about you or your family or how hard you have to work to support them because the fuel to transport every product you buy has doubled because of her.

She doesn’t care that motorcycle fatalities have TRIPLED this year because people are either trying to ride when it’s unsafe (rain, snow, etc) to save money, or people who don’t know what they are doing are getting on bikes.

ALL this bitch cares about is getting re-elected. Her constituency is San Francisco, and we all know what kind of people are there. They SUPPORT her. They WORSHIP her.

The ONLY way she is going to change her policies is if she is forced to do so. She needs to get so many calls lambasting her poor performance and ineptitude that she realizes that she HAS to make a change or she will never be elected again.

MAKE the calls, people. WRITE the letters. SEND the emails.

  5. Hey, leave old Nancy alone. She’s trying to save the environment for Michelle Obama.

  6. Actually Angry D, since there is no way to unseat her from her congressional seat, we need to plaster the rest of the Democratic Caucus to remove her from the Speakership!

  7. And all on her four-day work week to boot!

    Comment by A.C. McCloud | July 29, 2008

  8. Steve;

There are ways to remove her from her seat, most notably any future elections she runs in. If the people remember her ineptitude as Speaker, she wouldn’t make dogcatcher. (8% approval right now. Isn’t there a saying about the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time? Nancy keeps saying “No drilling” and her approval ratings keep slipping. Hmmm… I know one way that seventy-four percent of the country would raise their opinion of her…)

I’m not really in favor of recalls and impeachments. They cost money and they waste time. It’s more cost-effective to bend the incumbent to the will of the people with the understanding that they will CONFORM or they will be UNEMPLOYED after the next election. (One thing to think about, though. In the most liberal, backwards, and leftist state in the country, a democrat was recalled from the gubernatorial seat in 2004. That means it’s POSSIBLE that the people in California will rid us of Nancy, but it is UNLIKELY. She’s rather carefully selected her district, and it’s the most whacked out bunch of loons and grease stains in the country.)

Which is not to say for one tiny second that I disagree with you. The problem is that not too many of us here are registered democrats and are able to affect the democrat caucus. If you’ve got an idea for that, please post it. I’m not willing to sit and let this shrew destroy my country any further. You lead and I’ll happily follow.

  9. Now…now…everybody is being a little harsh towards Pelosi. She told us in ’06 she had that super secret plan to bring the price of gas down if Dems won, and they did. She probably just misplaced her notes from “Low Gas Prices For Dummies” .;-)

  11. On another note, I am (unfortunately) in Washington State, where I grew up, and the home of Congressional Jackass Jim McDermott (Gas stamps for the poor!).

McDermott is not my representative, since I live in another district. However, he does represent my home state, and he’s an idiot, so I called in to express my opinion.

I’m not terribly surly on the phone– at least until someone says something stupid– but I got the RUDEST and most UNPROFESSIONAL dickhead I’ve ever contacted. He wanted to tell me all about how McDermott isn’t my representative, which I knew, had no desire to listen to anything I said, and then summarized my brief statement in a way that completely trivialized my point. “You’re against gas stamps and for offshore drilling. Is that it?”

Yeah, meatball. Like the other 196.84 million people in this country that have told you the same thing in seven Gallup polls this year alone.
