I'm simply stunned at the complete and total lack of campaigning Republicans are doing on this issue.

Gas is the single most pervasive commodity in our entire economy. Without gas, food can't get to market (or even get grown in some cases), workers can't get to their jobs. Goods can't get transported. Products can't get assembled.

High gas prices interfere with every other aspect of our commerce. This (not)recession everyone is bleating about is a DIRECT RESULT of high gas prices-- prices that were caused by inept democrat "leadership".

Yet Republicans flatly REFUSE to use it as a campaign issue. They are as obstinate on the subject as dems are on the subject of drilling.

What the hell is wrong with these people? If I were running for a senate seat, every ad, every sign, every handbill, every poster I create would comment that my opponent is a member of a Congress with a single digit approval rating that has doubled the price of gas and trashed the American economy.

I would ask the same question Reagan did: "Are you better off now than you were four years ago, when gas was $1.58/gallon?"

Why is no one asking this? Why are Republicans refusing to campaign on this issue?
