“Religion of peace” strikes China
From China:
The two men who killed 16 policemen in the Kashgar massacre were today identified as members of an ethic group engaged in a shadowy insurgency in China’s north-western Xinjiang region.
The attackers, aged 28 and 33, were overcome and arrested at the scene and have been confirmed as Uighurs, a predominantly Muslim Turkic people, who make up the majority of Xinjiang’s 20 million population.
Although the official media did not spell it out there appears to be little doubt that they were members of the insurgency seeking to break Xinjiang away from China and establish an independent Islamic state of “East Turkistan”. …
That’s odd. I mean, the Chinese aren’t even in Iraq, and if I’m not mistaken, the left has been saying for years that Islamic terrorist attacks on Spain and Britain and other allies were a result of being in Iraq. Why, if I didn’t know any better, I’d swear this is just yet another act of violence in the name of the religion of perpetual outrage!

I’m guessing that the Chinese Army and intelligence services will not show a lot of restraint, once the Olympics are over and the tourists have gone home. And they probably won’t be sending any Uighurs to the tropics or giving them lawyers…

The sooner the whole world realizes these terrorists see the world has to follow there narrow view of Islamic dogma or death to ALL nonbelievers, nobody in the world is safe.

Steve, We all see their motives….but good luck convincing the liberals. They still think we should learn to “understand” them and that somehow they’ll learn to like us.
The irony is that a large part of the reason the Islamofascists hate us is because of the immoral lifestyles perpetuated by liberals. The Hollywood people who defend them would be the first to lose their heads!

Normally I am all for breaking countries into smaller segments to make the govt more responsive to the people but in this case the last thing that is needed is ANOTHER muslim rligious dictatorship.
Comment by WMD_Maker | August 5, 2008
This will be interesting. When the Chinese government is through playing nice for the Olympics, their handling of the Islamicists will likely be an exercise in “irresistible force meets immovable object.”
How do you say “crackdown” in Chinese?

KG,
Yet across World, Conservative governments (they are called conservative as compared to the alternatives in those countries) have been voted into power. (France, Germany, Italy, Iraq: local and national, Columbia, Mexico, Canada and soon UK, Spain and Portugal) The world electorate sees the danger of Islamic terrorism and liberalism. So I see hope for the future.
Reverse V,
Just wait, 1 billion Muslims vs. 2 billion Chinese.

kinda OT, but what about US censorship of the olympics? Reporters bitching that they can’t access freetibet.org and other such nonsense, yet the American media has total control over the olympics coverage to America.
People in Europe are watching the Olympics in real time, yet Americans can’t see the action because NBC has total control over the coverage to the USA. They can only see it on Prime Time EST.
Seems so damn hypocritical that the US MSM bitches about human rights and the communism of China, yet they control what (and WHEN) US citizens get to see reality.
