Yep. The Terminator put out an executive order last week laying off some state workers and making slashing cuts because they did not pass a BUDGET (which is required!)! But, they can spend time on this crap. Reason number 144,740 why people are taking their kids out of public schools.

I was wondering the same thing. I looked him up and supposedly he was the first openly gay politician to win and hold public office. Of course it was in San Francisco in 1973. He was later assassinated in 1978. His killer got a light sentence, which led to the “White Nights Riots” of 1979 by members of the gay community in SF. Supposedly he is viewed as a martyr by the SF Gay community. The proposed date of May 22 coincides with his birthday.

When does this fragmentation of America into minority groups stop! When does the awarding of these groups with special rights stop! And when do we stop and say being Gay does not make you a minority any more than me being blue eyed. I understand a gay person may be born gay and can’t change it without living a lie. I don’t believe it, but let’s just say it’s true. Why should you have any more special rights than I do as a person with blue eyes! I don’t care what you do in your bedroom and I agree you should have the same rights granted you and I by the Constitution, but not one right more than I have.

That brings me to Harvy Milk, what did he do that was more special than any other person who stands up to serve in public office. Nothing! He didn’t inspire, like Martin Luther King. He did not help mold our country by his shear will like Washington and Lincoln. This Harvy Milk day is just a way for the state Dems to throw the gay community of San Francisco a bone (no pun intended) to keep supporting the politicians who proposed it. Does it protect those in the gay community or ensure them that their rights might not be taken, no! All it does is it wastes one more day, in a child’s valuable school year when he or she is not learning to read, write or do math.

While we’re waiting on the Big One “earthquake”, why don’t we just put a fence up along the San Andreas fault. That way Californicatoria can start their own country and have all their way-out holidays they want. The US doens’t need an embassy there though.

Seriously, if I had kids in public school in CA, I’d get them the hell out of there. This is getting INSANE.
