Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

John Edwards admits affair

I haven’t commented much on this lately, for three main reasons:

1.  He’s not angling for a public office gig that we know of (and after this, it’s unlikely that he will);

2.  The National Enquirer broke the story;

3.  Quite frankly, I’ve cared very little about the story.

Yes, the man’s a scumbag, but didn’t we all already know that?  Granted, it takes a special kind of sleaziness for a man to cheat on his terminally ill wife whom he used for political purposes frequently in his ill-fated 2008 prez bid.

However, I might have chosen different words here were I the Silkster:

You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.

Yeah…”stripped bare”?  Seriously, that struck you as a fine choice of words in your carefully crafted public statement?  It’s a good thing we didn’t have that kind of judgment in store for this country.

I do get a kick out of this, though…the MSM is demanding an apology from Silky!

There’s going to be a whole round for the next 24 to 36 hours of all the staff members who were telling all of us in the media, ‘don’t go for this garbage, the story’s complete nonsense, it’s complete bull.’ Well now these people are going to have to come out and make their round of apologies, and in the same course of doing that, in terms of their apologies to us, they’re going to rip John Edwards apart for misleading them.

Unfriggingbelievable!  The MSM stayed quiet, didn’t do their jobs, and believed every word that Silky Pony fed them, and because they failed to do their jobs, the poor widdle MSM is the victim?  That’s rich!

Anyway, barring any massive developments here, I may not be commenting on the issue much longer.  But all of you are free to discuss at your leisure.

UK cops forced to quit working long enough to go to “tranny sensitivity training”

Political correctness run amok in Eurotrashland.  From the UK:

Police officers in an area with a high crime rate are being taken off the beat for an awareness course on sex changes.

The half-day training class is meant to help them deal with a colleague who is beginning a new life as a woman.

The ruling, which applies to 344 police and 166 civilian staff, has been deemed ‘political correctness gone mad’ by senior officers.

It was announced in a letter from Humberside Police’s former Chief Superintendent Kevin Sharp to all staff within the force’s A division.

This covers Grimsby and the surrounding area in North-East Lincolnshire — a region which last year had 41.5 crimes per 1,000 residents, compared with a national average of 28.

In his letter, Mr Sharp informed staff that the sex-change officer, a 42-year-old married PC now called Lauren, had been suffering from gender identity dysphoria. This left him feeling like a woman trapped in a man’s body.

Mr Sharp wrote: ‘As from today, Lauren starts her new life and over the next few weeks you will receive awareness training during which you will be able to read a personal letter from Lauren. …

Obviously, hurting some tranny’s feelings is a much worse crime than robberies, rapes, assaults, and murders.

White Sox manager unveils new school for autism

Kudos to Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen for this:

Dozens of friends and family members of children with autism—along with White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen—came together Wednesday to celebrate a new, state-of-the-art school and research center on the West Side that could set the standard for autism education. Here are a few key questions and answers about the center:

Q—Why was Guillen at the school Wednesday?

A—Guillen helped unveil White Sox Field, a pristine softball field adjacent to the school. The Sox organization donated $1 million to the new facility, and Easter Seals officials decided it would be fitting to name the field after the team.

The Sox manager spoke passionately about his interest in helping kids with autism both here in Chicago and in his native Venezuela.

“Don’t treat them like somebody else,” Guillen said. “Treat them like the human beings that they are. Give the best day to these kids every day. That’s the main reason we helped build this field, to give them as many great days as possible.”

Guillen is known as a foul-mouthed hothead, and truth be told, he’s earned that reputation.  However, he deserves much praise for his involvement in this worthwhile endeavor.

Exit prediction: Michael Savage won’t be attending any school tours there anytime soon.

Quote of the day, SCOTUS justices edition

Two jawdropping quotes from a couple of robed commies on the Supreme Court bench, courtesy of IBD:

In a speech in South Africa recently, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg argued that if judges can consult law review articles and such in the U.S., “why not the analysis of a question similar to the one we confront contained in an opinion of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Constitutional Court of South Africa, the German Constitutional Court or the European Court of Human Rights?

Justice Stephen Breyer, another citizen of the world, recently said: “We see all the time . . . how the world really — it’s trite but it’s true — is growing together. The challenge (will be) whether our Constitution . . . fits into the governing documents of other nations.

Whether our Constitution fits?

For our part, we think that the Constitution and our laws belong to the American people, to be changed through and by our elected legislatures. And we think that those who assault, rape and murder American citizens should be tried in American courts under American laws.

Wow.  And a President Obamaliar would appoint more moonbats like these!

MoveOn moonbats need new ad executive

The one they have really sucks at market research!  From Politico:

A series of new MoveOn.org radio advertisements looks like they could backfire, big-time.  (Don’t they all? – Ed.)

The liberal group is up with ads against six House Republicans attacking them for their support of offshore drilling. Problem is: most of the targets represent energy-rich districts where drilling is viewed favorably, to put it mildly.

One target, Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas), represents a west Texas district where the discovery of oil in the 1940s created wealth throughout the region, and the energy industry has since dominated the region’s economy.

And four of the six GOP targets hold heavily Republican seats and aren’t even facing credible challengers this election.

D’oh!

The National Republican Congressional Committee also wasted no time in responding to the ads.

We wholeheartedly endorse this colossal waste of funds,” said NRCC spokesman Ken Spain. “Not only is MoveOn.org’s anti-drilling position out of step with 70 percent of Americans, but a member like Mike Conaway who represents the Texas oil patch will probably see his approval rating surge upward as a result of these ads.”

Heh.

I’m willing to cut Morons.org a little slack here.  I mean, they are a bunch of leftist commie pinkos, so advertising and capitalism and stuff like that are as foreign to moonbats as French is to Obama (“merci beaucoup!”).
