Silky Pony’s “hush money” man is a fundraiser for Obama!
Sweet mother of Mary, how awesomely McAwesome is this? From the ABC News blog:
The Dallas Morning News over the weekend profiled Fred Baron, the chairman of Sen. John Edwards’ campaign finance committees in both his 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns.
Baron also, as you may know, has been paying significant lumps of cash to Edwards’ former mistress Rielle Hunter, and others involved in the scandal.
Baron claims Edwards knew nothing about it, and Edwards told ABC News Friday the same.
The article states that Baron is currently “raising money for nominee-to-be Barack Obama.”
At least Barry O is in a hurry to explain the problematic connection. Or not.
This morning I asked the Obama campaign if they would comment on whether Baron is fundraising for the campaign. Some people might find that inappropriate. The campaign has yet to respond (color me with the “surprised” crayon! – Ed.), but I will let you know when and if they do.
Exit (yet predictable) quip: “This is not the Fred Baron I knew!” “Judgment to lead” and yada-yada-yada…
Exit (yet less predictable) quip: This doesn’t help Shelly O’s kids.
ABC: Dems becoming more “pro-life”
Shamefully ludicrous headline:
Are Democrats Now Pro-Life?
As Convention Draws Near, New Talk of a Pro-Life Presence
Um, not quite. See, when your party’s standard bearer supports actual, indisputable infanticide, and when your Messiah thinks that kids are “punishment”, then it’s pretty safe to assume that your party isn’t exactly what we would call “pro-life”, now is it?
Nope…no liberal media bias!
NBC luvs them some ChiComs!
Examples of NBC’s whitewashing of the Commie regime hosting the Olympics are here.
Probably the most outrageous take is Matt Lauer stating that citizens of Beijing’s most oppressive regime are “happier” than most Americans! If, by “happier”, you mean “fond of being shipped off to re-education camps for not towing the party line”, then yeah…”happier”!
Nope…no liberal media bias!

HuffPo kooks: Georgia started war with Russia…to help McCain!
Sometimes, there just isn’t the right combination of words to describe the sheer #sshattery of the moonbats. From the HuffPo kook site:
In classic “Wag The Dog” scenario there is a neat little war brewing between American and Russian proxies, and real Russian troops, in the Caucacus Mountains on the Russian border.
It couldn’t come at a better time for the Republicans.
McCain gets to act and talk tough against the Russians, while Obama is on vacation in Hawaii, issuing “can’t we all get along statements.”
It perfectly augments Republican campaign points: Obama is not ready. He is not tough, experienced enough to deal with a dangerous world.
McCain knows he can’t win the election on Iraq or Iran or the economy. Republicans need a real boogeyman —-the Russian bear —- armed with nuclear weapons —- to really scare the bijous out of the American voters.
I’m sure Juanny Mac gave a ring-a-ding to Georgia and hit ‘em like this:
McCain: Say, would you do me a big favor?
Georgia: What did you have in mind?
McCain: Well, there’s an election this year, and it’s pretty tight right now. I was wondering, would you mind persuading the Russkies to come into your country, bomb you back to the Stone Age, slaughter scores of your countrymen and wreak havoc on your infrastructure?
Georgia: What in the blue hell would we do that for?
McCain: ‘Cuz it would help me get elected?
Georgia: Oh, well why didn’t you say so? Clearly, your ascension to the Oval Office is one of the top concerns of our country, and if it means we have to go on a suicide mission to make it happen, then that’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make. Consider it done.
Moonbatz iz dumm!
French talk trash, then promptly lose
A French loss (at anything) is pretty much expected these days. Still, the Frogs don’t know when to keep their traps shut. From Weasel Zippers:
The French never miss an opportunity to disgrace themselves….
The Americans’ relay victory was all the more sweet considering the way France declared itself the favorite prior to the Olympics. The Frenchmen weren’t shy about repeating it either. In a news conference prior to the start of the Games, Bernard, who boasts a tattoo of a shark on his abdomen, was asked what he thought about his country’s chances against the United States.
“The Americans?” Bernard said. “We will smash them.”Several of Bernard’s teammates followed his lead, even going to far as to suggest that the Americans were scared of the French.
“This morning, Bob (Bowman) had said the French was saying some stuff, talking a little bit of trash,” Phelps said. “It fired me up more than anything else. I told Garret, and he said ‘You know what?’ We’re going to let our swimming do the talking.”
C’est dommage, Frenchie! Hey, I’ll give them this: at least they tried, instead of surrendering!
Obama neutral on Russian aggression, then condemns it
From Gateway Pundit:
…Nowhere in Obama’s original statement did he exclusively condemn Russia but rather took the citizen of the world approach and left America’s ally Georgia to fend for itself.
Here is that statement:“I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict. Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid an escalation to full scale war. Georgia’s territorial integrity must be respected. All sides should enter into direct talks on behalf of stability in Georgia, and the United States, the United Nations Security Council, and the international community should fully support a peaceful resolution to this crisis.”
…But, that was yesterday.
Now Politico is reporting that Barack Obama has released a fresh new statement and has decided to choose sides:“I condemn Russia’s aggressive actions and reiterate my call for an immediate ceasefire… Russia must stop its bombing campaign, cease flights of Russian aircraft in Georgian airspace, and withdraw its ground forces from Georgia.”
Suddenly, Barack is sounding McCainish.
Surprised?Drew thinks someone must have looked it up and told Obama which side we are on.
“Judgment” and “leadership” and whatnot.

Obama to text VP to supporters?
OMG! u r gonna luv him! LOL! From the LAT blog:
Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, is on vacation in Hawaii tonight. We believe. But, thanks to loyal Ticket reader Mark, just minutes ago we learned that the freshman senator’s presidential campaign has confirmed that announcement of Obama’s running mate choice is very near .
An e-mail just sent out says Obama “is about to choose a running mate.” And when word comes, it will come by text message, e-mail and on the campaign website. An interesting twist that could mean the word might be released this week even during Obama’s family vacation. …
If this turns out to be true, I cannot imagine a more poorly conceived plan. Ed Morrissey observes thusly:
The time to do this kind of announcement was early last week, before the Olympics, and before war broke out in the Caucasus, although that’s just an accident of timing. Instead of looking presidential in making this announcement, Obama looks like a parent trying too hard to be hip around his kid’s friends. …
