Do you even read, Robert?

"But Obama's edge with the oil producers Americans know best -- and might be cursing most these days -- makes it harder for him to continue to tar McCain as the industry's darling."

There is no differentiation between Exxon employees and the Exxon corporate entity when it comes to giving. If Exxon Corp. decides to donate to a candidate, it takes a board of individuals to sign off on it. Who are those individuals? Employees, i.e. workers of the company, i.e. private citizens. More of these employees of Exxon, BP, and Chevron have donated to Oilbama.

When you throw in the other oil companies (Koch Industries, Valero, Marathon Oil, Occidental Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, etc.), then McCain has more contributions. You would think a man as allegedly brilliant as the Obamessiah would have used one of those other bogeymen instead of biting the Exxon hand that feeds him.

Besides, if McCain was a shill for Big Oil, why did he vote against the 2005 Bush energy bill (which handed out big subsidies for Big Oil) that Obama supported? Obama sure seems to talk a good game about not taking oil company contributions, but (a) the above shows that he's lying about that; and (b) this shows he's lying about that. As noted in the prior link:

Is there anything inherently wrong with taking money from people in the oil industry? No, except in two circumstances: if one publicly demonizes the entire industry or if they claim not to be taking its money. Obama actually manages to do both in the same ad, making both a liar and a hypocrite at the same time.

Sorry, but "Exxon John" just doesn't stick. Care to try again?

Facts? Lets talk facts then. The article you link to does not say that Exxon gives more money to the Obama Campaign, it says that Exxon employees do. So the workers of the company have donated more. Not the company itself. Those are private citizens, they do not donate as a corporate entity.

Here's a quote from the article you linked to, "Comparing Obama’s and McCain’s financial ties to the oil industry, there’s no question that McCain has benefited more from the industry’s contributions, just as his Republican Party has for years and years."
