Colin Powell to endorse Obama?
Not that big of a deal, in my view. But Ace asks a question I was also thinking:
Exit question: How psyched are the Democrats to have the endorsement of a guy who “lied us into Iraq” and “twisted the intelligence” and all that good stuff?
Pretty darned psyched, I imagine.
NYT bonds junk?
I guess running factless anti-McCain smear jobs with no evidence or sources just doesn’t pay the bills anymore, does it?
Obama supports infanticide, revisited
This is a follow-up to an earlier piece I did. Read this, and I challenge even the most ga-ga of the Obamessiah’s Kool-Aid drinkers to try to defend the indefensible. Excerpt:
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.) does not share his position. In 2001, just three months after Obama inveighed against protecting premature babies in Illinois, the United States Senate voted on the language of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. It contained no significant legal differences from the Illinois bill, but it did contain even more specific and redundant language stating that the bill did not apply to the unborn, only those already born.
…
On June 29, 2001, Boxer had spoken in favor of that same bill, the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, on the floor of the U.S. Senate: “Of course, we believe everyone born should deserve the protections of this bill,” she said. “Who could be more vulnerable than a newborn baby? So, of course, we agree with that.…We join with an ‘aye’ vote on this. I hope it will, in fact, be unanimous.” It was unanimous: 98–0. Even Hillary Clinton voted for it.At the time Boxer spoke enthusiastically in favor of protecting premature babies, she had a 100-percent lifetime voting score from NARAL and a 100 percent score from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She was also a leader on the abortion issue. She was the greatest ally that abortion-choice advocates had in the United States Senate. …
How depraved must you be to support an abortion procedure that even Babs Boxer and the Hilldawg won’t support?
It’s so clear that even a leftist can’t avoid it: The One is so beholden to the pro-abortion lobby that he supports a grotesque form of death that even NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and NOW do not support. In short, he is pro-infanticide…pure and simple. If McCain has a hair left on that shriveled scrotum of his, he will pound this into the minds of the electorate to show how The One’s judgment is even worse than we already thought.
Richardson: UN Security Council should pass resolution condemning Russia
From George Will:
On ABC’s “This Week,” Richardson, auditioning to be Barack Obama’s running mate, disqualified himself. Clinging to the Obama campaign’s talking points like a drunk to a lamppost, Richardson said this crisis proves the wisdom of Obama’s zest for diplomacy, and that America should get the U.N. Security Council “to pass a strong resolution getting the Russians to show some restraint.” …
Brilliant idea, huh? There’s just one small problem with that suggestion:
…Apparently Richardson was ambassador to the U.N. for 19 months without noticing that Russia has a Security Council veto.
D’oh! Scratch another one off the VP list.
Obama snubs troops…again
Not content to blowing off a visit to wounded soldiers in Europe, the Obamessiah decided he had bigger fish to fry again. From the Weekly Standard:
Calling their convention “America’s Townhall” takes a lot of chutzpah given Barack Obama refused to do a series of townhalls with McCain. But not as much as declining to do a townhall with U.S. soldiers because of a “previously scheduled commitment” and then jetting off to Hawaii for a vacation.
Last month, Obama refused to do a military townhall for 6,000 veterans, service members, and military families at Fort Hood, Texas. That event would have taken place tonight, but Obama spokesman, Phillip Carter, said at the time Obama couldn’t make it because “we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed.” But Obama doesn’t have another event scheduled for this evening — he’s busy bodyboarding in Hawaii.
Let’s get this straight: When Obama visits Europe, he’d rather address German hipsters than soldiers who were injured while fighting in Iraq. And now that he’s back in America, he’d rather vacation in Hawaii than answer questions that our soldiers and their families have for him. Is there anything that would convince the self-proclaimed presumptive president that he’ll have to address this country’s military before he’ll be ready to lead?
Schmuck.
Obama wins another coveted endorsement: Communist Party of America
But where on Earth would you get the idea he’s a leftist? Oh, I dunno.
