Ron Paul endorses Congressman “Bridge to Nowhere”
Here’s something that ought to drive the Paultards nuttier than they already are: Ron Paul (R-TX) is endorsing Congressman Don Young (Porkster-AK) in an Alaskan GOP primary. For those of you who don’t recall, Don Young is the author of the quarter-billion-dollar “Bridge to Nowhere” pork proposal in Alaska, and is currently under federal investigation.
See, Ron Paul is a former big-L Libertarian but has been in Congress as a small-l libertarian Republican. One of Paul’s alleged pet peeves is pork. Supposedly, the libertarian in him despises pork with a bitter passion. Actually, that’s one of (if not the only) things I’ve liked about Paul. It’s been a staple of Paul’s public image, since he has voted against numerous bills and budgets that had more pork than a Rosie O’Donnell cookout.
Well, guess what? Paul’s a fraud! Though his anti-Semitism and his batshiite crazy ways may not have embarrassed Captain Kook’s supporters, one would think this just might do it.
In addition to his hypocrisy on pork via his support for Young, there’s also this:
By endorsing Congressman Don Young (R-Alaska) for reelection over his principled conservative challenger, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) has put “pork ahead of principle,” Richard A. Viguerie said.
Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said the endorsement is “completely inconsistent with everything Congressman Paul has said that he stands for. But, unfortunately, it is consistent with his record of pork-barrel spending for the folks back home in his district.”
Viguerie noted that, according to a recent article in the Houston Chronicle, Paul “is trying to nab public money for 65 projects, such as marketing wild shrimp and renovating the old movie theater in Edna that closed in 1977 — neither of which is envisioned in the Constitution as an essential government function.“
All of Paul’s pork requests are here.
You drank the Kool-Aid, Paulnuts…you were Jim Jones’d real good.
Dems’ identity politics finally bites them in the posterior
From Neal Boortz:
Attempts to unite the Democrat Party (a big theme here in Denver) have been put on hold while the media figures out what to make of this “Uncle Tom” moment. What happened was that a black Barack Obama delegate apparently called a black Hillary Clinton supporter an “Uncle Tom.”
The conversation took place Saturday night in a hotel lobby in Denver. Delmarie Cobb of Chicago says that Illinois Senate President Emil Jones called her the slur for supporting Hillary Clinton. Jones initially denied calling Cobb an “Uncle Tom” but then tried telling reporters that he called her a “doubting Thomas” and Cobb misheard the comment.
Now the Illinois’ Nation Organization for Women is calling on Jones to resign immediately from the Illinois state Senate for the comment.
If you read the history of The Chosen One’s rise in the Chicago political machine you’ll see the name of Emil Jones everywhere. He’s a old-style Chicago politician who was instrumental in Barack’s political success. The media used to excoriate the Chicago political machine, but no more … not now that the machine’s greatest political success is the Democrat nominee.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is trying to restore party unity … again, one of the themes for the week (besides John McCain’s houses). Members of the Congressional Black Caucus say that Hillary plans to release her pledged delegates to Obama, which “would help Democrats present a unified face to the nation after a primary marked by calls of racism and sexism.” The move is officially expected to happen on Wednesday.
When your party exists to foment identity victimhood, there will inevitably be moments like this. Serves those jerks right.
Obama asks DOJ to stop anti-Obama ad
Remember how the left has been petrified for nearly a decade that the Bu$hitler McCheneyburton DOJ would be called upon to stifle free speech? Well, as luck would have it, the left was right…just not in the manner they expected. From Politico:
Sen. Barack Obama has launched an all-out effort to block a Republican billionaire’s efforts to tie him to domestic and foreign terrorists in a wave of negative television ads.
Obama’s campaign has written the Department of Justice demanding a criminal investigation of the “American Issues Project,” the vehicle through which Dallas investor Harold Simmons is financing the advertisements. The Obama campaign — and tens of thousands of supporters — also is pressuring television networks and affiliates to reject the ads. The effort has met with some success: CNN and Fox News are not airing the attacks.
Wait…I thought Fox News was a tool of the right? Anywho, continuing:
Bauer’s letter called on the Justice Department to open “an investigation of the American Issues Project; its officers and directors; and its anonymous donors, whoever they may be.”
…
The Obama campaign plans to punish the stations that air the ad financially, an Obama aide said, organizing his supporters to target the stations that air it and their advertisers.
If that’s not a stunning example of fascism by a presidential candidate who doesn’t give a wet fart on a dry January Monday about the First Amendment, I really don’t know what is.
What’s so objectionable about the ad?
The ad focuses on Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers, a Hyde Park acquaintance at whose home Obama attended a gathering early in his political career. Ayers is a complicated figure: professor and adviser to the mayor of Chicago despite not having repented his past as a domestic terrorist with the Weather Underground.
If, by “Ayers is a complicated figure”, they mean “an unrepentant domestic terrorist”, then yeah…”complicated”!
Anemic retort from The One:
Obama has launched a response ad, which addresses McCain directly, and will air in Ohio, Tracey said. “With all our problems, why is John McCain talking about the ’60s, trying to link Barack Obama to radical Bill Ayers?” says Obama’s ad. “McCain knows Obama denounced Ayers’ crimes, committed when Obama was just 8 years old.”
Response from the McCain campaign:
“The fact that [Obama] is launching his own convention by defending his long association with a man who says he didn’t bomb enough U.S. targets tells us more about Barack Obama than any of tonight’s speeches will,” said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.
Darn right.
The Obamination’s assertion that he should be absolved of his poor judgment (associating with Bill Ayers) because O was only eight when Ayers was happily bombing America is patently absurd. Let’s say that I’m pals with Charles Manson. Before you call me a sicko for being friends with Manson, let me remind you that I wasn’t even born when Manson and his minions went on their rampage, m’kay? So step off!
Anywho, as you can see, it’s not the right that works to stifle free speech in the country…it’s the thin-skinned reality-averse left.

The Obamination looks down his nose on the First Amendment
Kos kooks: McCain is a tool for the Jooooooooooooooos!
Per my policy, I shan’t link to the moonbats’ blogs. But feel free to find it yourself. Excerpt:
Such heart-warming news! High level Republican associates here are talking about the latest ploy on the part of the State of Israel to gain complete control of the United States government. Their idea is to offer the diseased McCain unlimited support from their papers and television stations in return for his putting Joe Lieberman on the ticket as vice president. As McCain is known to be seriously ill and will soon be unable to function, the plan will be for him to retire “for reasons of health” and then Joe Lieberman, loud and persistent Israeli supporter, will step into the Oval Office and America will have her first (unelected) Jewish president.
Somewhere in America, a serious shortage of industrial strength meds exists.
Michelle Obama finally loves her country
Excerpt from Shelly O’s speech:
That is the thread that connects our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barack’s journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope.
That is why I love this country.
What a difference a few months makes, no? She went from just recently being proud of this country (a country that she described as “mean”) to practically oozing stars and stripes, baseball and apple pie! Why, it’s as if this wasn’t a genuine display of emotion, but a well-rehearsed delivery of pap!
At least she ended it on a very non-Wright note:
Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.
Sure beats “God d#mn America”, doesn’t it?
