Obama’s buddy Ayers’ first victim speaks
This part of the intro should get you to read the piece:
…Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer: “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.” Obama was indeed only eight in early 1970. I was only nine then, the year Ayers’s Weathermen tried to murder me.
The kid was nine when Ayers tried to kill him. That’s not too much older than Barry O’s cutoff age for a born-alive “abortion”!
The end of the article should be the closer for you:
At the conclusion of his 2001 Times interview, Ayers said of his upbringing and subsequent radicalization: “I was a child of privilege and I woke up to a world on fire.”
Funny thing, Bill: one night, so did I.
But according to The One of Superior Judgment, Ayers is just a “mainstream” American. If, by “mainstream”, you mean a pyromaniacal domestic terrorist, then yeah…”mainstream”!
Obama’s jackbooted administration, the precursor
The One has mighty thin skin these days. First, he threatens TV stations and networks with criminal investigations if they dare to run truthful ads that link him to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. Then, he goes after GOP donors who haven’t swigged his Kool-Aid. Now, there’s this:
Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.
“WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears,” Obama’s campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. “He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.”
Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama’s ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.
The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.
Obama critics were quick to suggest that political clout could be involved in seeking to protect Obama from embarrassment. The school later reserved its position and made the records available Tuesday.
On Wednesday evening, Obama’s campaign urged supporters to call the radio station to complain.
“Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse,” the note said. (Apparently, calling someone a “smear-merchant” does not “lower the standards of political discourse”, does it? – Ed.
“It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin (Here’s guessing the irony of that expression is lost on the morons running O’s campaign. – Ed.) like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves,” the note continued. “At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz’s lies.”
OK, good point. The radio show could have at least allowed O’s side some rebuttal time. Well…
Christenson said the Obama campaign was asked to have someone appear on the show and declined the request.
“He got into the files just yesterday, so we wanted to have him on to find out what he found. And, if at all possible, we wanted to get the Obama campaign, to get their side of the story,” Christenson said. “That’s why the uproar is kind of amazing, because we wanted the Obama campaign’s take as well.”
…
Obama’s campaign has launched similar offensives against stations that have run campaign ads that it did not like.
Interesting that the Obamessiah accuses the president of using heavy-handed tactics to squash dissent (with little evidence that this has happened), yet O as a candidate is trying to get the DOJ and their other thugs to do the same thing they accuse Bu$hitler McCheneyburton of doing. It makes you wonder how a (God help us) President Obama would use the DOJ in his administration, with the full power of the federal government at his disposal.
Obama more leftist than originally realized
He was so far left on abortion that he actually voted to defend infanticide (a vote he is desperately trying to lie his way out of these days). But dude, this is something else:
Sen. Barack Obama will portray himself Thursday night as an agent of change for mainstream America, but his eight-year voting record in the Illinois Senate shows the Democrat was on occasion an agent of isolation who took stands – particularly on anti-crime legislation – that put him to the left of his own party.
Mr. Obama was the only member of the state Senate to vote against a bill to prohibit the early release of convicted criminal sexual abusers; was among only four who voted against bills to toughen criminal sentences and to increase penalties for “gangbangers” and dealers of Ecstasy; and voted “present” on a bill making it harder for abusive parents to regain custody of their children, a Washington Times review of Illinois legislative records shows.
“On the one hand, I give him credit for being true to his beliefs. But certainly with concerns that there were, even for his own party in Illinois, he would be to the left on some of those key votes,” said Illinois state Sen. Dave Syverson, a conservative Republican.
Well, at least he stopped voting Commie since joining the U.S. Senate. Yeah, right:
The pattern has continued since Mr. Obama joined the U.S. Senate, according to National Journal magazine.
Its respected legislative scorecard rated the Illinois Democrat, based on his 2007 voting record, as the most liberal member of the Senate, even more liberal than Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont, a self-described “democratic socialist.” (Isn’t that a redundancy? – Ed.) Mr. Obama ranked No. 16 and No. 10 in the previous two years.
His running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, ranked third in the 2007 National Journal survey, with only Sen. Edward M. Kennedy between him and Mr. Obama.
When you’ve topped Ted Kennedrunk on the liberal scale, you’ve really achieved something (and in O’s case, that may be his only achievement).
Democrats’ own platform calls for socialism
From RCP:
The Democrats have titled their party platform, “Renewing America’s Promise.”
A more honest and accurate title would be, “We’ll Give You More.”
The soul of the Democratic philosophy is summed up in this passage from the platform: “For decades, Americans have been told to act for ourselves, by ourselves, on our own. Democrats reject this recipe for division and failure.“
Their own words, my friends. Not only do Ted Kennedrunk and the Hilldawg openly engage in a war on individualism, but their party has codified that sentiment into its platform. Only government can make things right in your life, because you’re just too stupid to do it for yourself. Continuing:
Note the disdain for the ethos of self-responsibility. Democrats do not merely regard it as insufficient. Instead they regard the idea that people should provide for themselves as divisive.
Even more significantly, Democrats regard self-responsibility as a “recipe for failure.” In other words, Democrats don’t think the American people are capable of making it on their own.
And so, Democrats have a government program for, well, everything.
Democrats want government to help you raise your kids, send them to college, train and retrain for a job, buy a home and save for retirement.
They must be saving the burial assistance program for 2012.
If you want an abortion or want to keep the child (or in Obama’s case, you want to kill the child – Ed.), it doesn’t matter.
Democrats want taxpayers to help pay for it either way.
Indeed they do. Marx would be proud, were he not roasting in Hell right now.
Michelle Obama: Yep, hubby supports amnesty
From Shelly O:
Hispanics should not have to live in fear of raids by immigration agents, Michelle Obama told a Hispanic caucus to the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.
Her husband, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, wants to reform immigration policies and provide illegal immigrants a path to citizenship, she said.
“We would have an immigration policy that brings 12 million people out of the shadows,” she told cheering caucus members who shouted “Yes we can” in Spanish.
Still avoiding the word “illegal”? Let me clarify this for you: If you are Hispanic and are not here illegally, then you have no need to fear raids from immigration officials. If you are here illegally, then you have no need to fear raids from immigration officials if you simply get the hell out of the country! There…problem solved.
Laugher of the day, Bubba edition
BEVERAGE ALERT! Put down your morning joe before reading this from Allahpundit:
Contrary to reports, it wasn’t the song playing while he was leaving; that was “Beautiful Day” by U2. Only after he had safely gone did they kick into [Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love"] … just as the camera panned to Hillary. Oy.
Exit question: One last middle finger from Team Barry? Keep Chaos alive!
Irony…it’s not just for breakfast anymore!
