Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Obama’s new criteria for being president

The One puts on an impressive display of circular reasoning.  Seriously, I applaud such an overt display of logical fallacies I haven’t seen since my Intro to Philosophy class at FSU.  Here’s the Obimbo weighing in on why Governor Palin has accomplished diddly (unlike a certain achievementless “community organizer” elitist from Chicago), from NRO:

OBAMA: Well, you know, my understanding is, is that Governor Palin’s town of Wasilly [sic] has, I think, 50 employees. We have got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month.

So, I think that our ability to manage large systems and to execute, I think, has been made clear over the last couple of years. And, certainly, in terms of the legislation that I passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina of how we handle emergency management, the fact that many of my recommendations were adopted and are being put in place as we speak, I think, indicates the degree to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.

Got that?  Obambi is supremely qualified to run for president because…well, because he’s running for president!  Friggin’ brilliant, Socrates.

Also, I find it funnier than Michael Moore on a treadmill that Osamabama keeps referencing Palin’s former role as mayor of a small Alaskan town…while conveniently ignoring that her current job is governor of the largest state in the union.  That’s more than Sen. Thin Resumé can say.

Exit question #1: If you’re going to once again slander yet another ”bitter, clingy” small town in America’s 56th state, is it too much to ask for you to get the town’s name right?  It’s “Wasilla”, Magellan.

Exit question #2: By Barry O’s circular reasoning, anyone who ever has ever run for any public office has executive experience.  Doesn’t that pretty much neuter the left’s own “experience” argument against Palin?

  1. She has had more commander-in-chief experience than either dem candidate too. She has been in charge of the Alaska National Guard and even VISITED troops in a hospital in Germany!!!!!!!

  2. It absolutely cracks me up that Dems are questioning Palin’s experience. The hypocrisy – and ignorance – is positively staggering!

  5. Let me preface this by saying I think Obama is a giant douche – just so that I am not mistaken for an Obama apologist by what I’m about to say.

While I can see quite a few holes in his argument, I’m not so sure I’d call it circular reasoning. I don’t think he was saying he “is supremely qualified to run for president because…well, because he’s running for president!” I think he’s saying that running a huge campaign does give one some executive experience, i.e., running for President qualifies one TO BE president (as opposed to “run for”). I almost kind of agree that a massive campaign like this probably does strengthen ones “Presidential” skill set a small degree (but just a tiny bit). I mean, a presidential campaign would probably give anyone more executive experience than they’d gain in the Senate. While I probably wouldn’t label it circular reasoning necessarily, I would say he’s STRETCHING a whole lot.

Of course, as you mention, it’d be impossible to argue that it gives you experience, and not your opponent.

Also, I kinda assume he’s got some sort of campaign manager that’s really acting as executive officer for his campaign, and gaining all that experience, rather than him.

  6. But as a presidential candidate, he makes virtually no executive decisions because those are made by managers in different areas of the campaign. They just wind him up & send him out to stutter.

  7. “I think he’s saying that running a huge campaign does give one some executive experience,”

If Ballsack was actually running the campaign I would agree with you but he deosnt run his own campaign he is just the mouthpiece for it. His campaign manager is the one getting all the “executive” experience so let the Dems put his manager up for pres,

  8. OK, I researched this myself.

JsinGood, let’s try those number with Palin’s CURRENT job:

    Employees:

    Obama campaign 2500
Alaksa state government: 22,358 in 1997

    next…

Jenn, all they have to do is take away his teleprompter and he won’t have to pretend. :)
