Michelle Obama: Sarah Palin is stupid
From Shelly O:
Obama then moved on to politics, where she first brought up her husband’s vice-presidential choice. “I think it was a really good pick—Senator Joe Biden,” she said, and later added, “People say they have amazing chemistry, and it’s true.”
Obama continued with talk about Biden when she said, “What you learn about Barack from his choice is that he’s not afraid of smart people.” The crowd softly chuckled.
But hey, don’t you go thinking that liberals are elitists who look down their noses on normal America, m’kay?
Exit question: Considering Shelly’s recently found pride in her country, does she still have that pride now that more people in America like that Alaskan rube than her Marxist hubby?

Liberals assume that a woman has to be a raging testosterone laden b!tch to be smart. I’d love to see Palin debate that militant, elitist, marxist witch! I’d put my money on Sarah every time!
Comment by Kanaka Girl | September 9, 2008
Ok, not seeing how anyone sees this as an insult to Palin. Do we have audio or video? I saw this at Newsbusters and was thinking this girl was looking to be offended.
Comment by Alli | September 9, 2008
Alli, the implication is that McCain IS afraid of smart people…thus his pick for VP.

“Exit answer: Shelly won’t be proud of us rubes anymore?”
Comment by tnjack | September 9, 2008
Oh silly Michelle, implying your competition is stupid isn’t really conducive to the change message. It’s the same-old crap.
It would be funny to see Michelle vs. Sarah settle their differences in an actual mud pit. Pay-per-view, on the eve of the election, now that would get some people interested in some politics.
Comment by Marla | September 9, 2008
“Shelly” is not running to be head of the free world.
Nothing wrong with rubes. Rubes are great.
I am a rube and that may be why I think children need a parent at home and hands-on.
The question is: who would you want doing surgery on you, teaching kids how to avoid getting pregnant while in high school, or leading the free world?

You know she’s married, right? To the kids’ father? You know that, right? Is there a law that says the father works and the mother stays with the kids? Sounds pretty sexist to me.
The question is: who would you want doing surgery on you
Not sure how that’s relevant, but I’ll play along: 1. A surgeon;
…teaching kids how to avoid getting pregnant while in high school
2. Anyone who can say “Don’t screw, and you won’t get preggers”;
…or leading the free world?
3. John McCain and Sarah Palin.

For the record, I’m a Republican voting for Obama.
Once again my Republican friends, you take a simple comment and twist it around to make the Obamas out to be monsters.
Meanwhile, Mccain is caught in a continuous strand of lies everyday.
You may not agree with liberals, but I at least think you can agree with ‘intelligence.’
I vote every year on the basis of who is the smarter candidate and who handles issues better. I just watched Palin with Gibson, and hearing her dodge answering questions, repeat herself, and obviously have no idea what’s going on in the world outside Alaska was uncomfortable.
Just because they’re Republicans too, doesn’t mean we HAVE to vote for them.
I was going to vote for Mccain, until this idiot, and yes, I say IDIOT Sarah Palin was elected to be his running mate. It was so obviously a move to try and snatch up Hilary voters, and NOT a move that presented someone who is actually prepared to help lead the nation, that I dont know how anyone could summon the motive to believe she’ll be right for this country.
She has great Conservative views, but not great.. wordly views?
Yeah… That sounds about right.
Do your homework, and vote for Obama.

Notice that this person didn’t say “WE may not agree with liberals?” I mean, if this person was really a “Republican”, then wouldn’t the correct word have been “WE”?
At this point, I called BS and ignored the rest of the comment. I don’t deal with liars.

Just like a true republican.
He fully explained his open-minded decision (a decision I agree with completely) and urged ‘you’ to put thought into your decision as a voter. He wants the best candidate to be elected President.
But you probably stopped listening when I said I agree with him.

Did you see her interview with Katie Couric? It was embarassing for all Republicans and women. She really did not know what she was talking about, she looked uncomfortable and angry the whole time, JUST because she couldn’t answer any of the questions. The fact that she thinks being able to see Russia from certain parts of Alaska gives her foreign affairs experience is hilarious (It’s actually Siberia).
I’m a Republican, voting Democrat.

Sorta like when Obama said a trip to Pakistan when he was in college gave HIM foreign affairs experience? I’m thinking you probably never heard that, though, did ya?
I’m a Republican, voting Democrat.
Sure you are, Sweetie. Sure you are.

Sarah she cant get out a group of thoughts that are her own . You should really wake up. This is not about D or R it is just the PLAIN TRUTH. She is not up for the job. Take off your blinders and look. I am not saying Obama has more exp. He does not. But he can put a few words together and make a logical statement. And I am a big fan of Mcanins . Even lunched with him when I was in undergrad at U of A ….
Comment by richard | September 28, 2008
I won’t lie. I’m a Democrat. However, I’m not anti-McCain. In fact, in 2000, I’d like to have gotten the chance to vote for him (I’m not even sure I would have voted for him, but I’d like to have had it be him or Gore). Anyway, why is it a bad thing for people to be smart? Since when is it a requirement that you would want to have a BBQ with someone for them to be President? Sarah Palin is an insult to all of our intelligence. She’s charasmatic and speaks very well (much better than Bush) but she’s just not saying anything. I wish it wasn’t true because I don’t want to be afraid of either political party and their candidates, but this woman is scary. And stupid. Please just listen to her words.

I did listen to her words. Like when she said there were 57 states.
Oh, wait…that’s what Barack Obama said. Never mind.

It is important to listen to people’s words.
Listen to Barry O on people hethinks are smart at http://ngoldfarb.wordpress.com

I’m a Republican and would be voting for McCain if not for two things:
1. If he ran a smart, clean campaign like in 2000 (when I did vote for him.)
2. If Sarah Palin were not on the ticket.
I’m a scientist and her latest gaffe on mocking research on fruit flies (that is making inroads into understanding autism) is just another of hundreds of reasons to keep her far, far away from the White House. The only things I like about her:
1. Her stance on the 2nd amendment.
2. I’m drawing a blank, but I’m sure there’s something else.
Now, you may accuse me of “not being a Republican” if that makes you feel better about the fact that I’m breaking from my party and voting for a Democrat, but it’s simply not the case. I really wish Mitt Romney would have received the nomination–it’d be an entirely different ballgame, especially on the economics question.
And, by the way “crushliberalism” if you knew your stuff on politics, true liberals have more in common with true conservatives than the neocons who plague the GOP, but then again, you don’t really come off as a true conservative.
P.S. Look up the history of the neoconservative political philosophy, it’s roots are in Trotskyism.
Comment by Georgia | October 27, 2008
I’m a Republican and would be voting for McCain if not for two things:
1. He’s not a flaming socialist.
2. His running mate isn’t a much uglier, more homely female.
Now, you may accuse me of “not being a Republican”
Bingo.
…if that makes you feel better about the fact that I’m breaking from my party and voting for a Democrat
That’s where you give yourself away. If you were really a Republican and weren’t voting for McCain for his stance on certain issues such as campaign finance reform, amnesty for criminal aliens, etc., you would be echoing many other Republicans who are less than thrilled with Juan McAmnesty. But by voting for a socialist with deep ties to radicals who is an unaccomplished empty suit that votes against allowing doctors to give medical assistance to babies who survive abortion, you expose yourself (and not in the Bill Clinton way).
Do you think you’re the first so-called “Republican” to lie about party affiliation in order to claim credibility that you’re not due? My sister-in-law describes herself as a “Republican”, despite the fact that she has never voted for one a day in her life! She thinks if she calls herself one and then slams Republicans, people will take her more seriously than they otherwise would. You and she are two peas in a pod.
blah-blah-blah, “neocons”, blah-blah-blah
And to think anyone would question your “Republican” credentials!
