Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Pelosi: We don’t need to drill for fossil fuels; instead, we need natural gas

Michelle Malkin exposes Pe-loco’s need to enroll in an elementary school-level earth science class:

Nancy Pelosi’s mouth emits a lot of natural gas, but she has no idea about how the other kind is produced.

Conn Carroll at Heritage teaches her a lesson:

The day before the Democratic National Convention Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) went on Meet the Press and told Tom Brokaw:

I’m, I’m, I’m investing in something I believe in. I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels. … These investments in wind, in solar and biofuels and focus on natural gas, these are the real alternatives.

As we pointed out at the time, natural gas is not an alternative to fossil fuels … it is a fossil fuel. And as the “Energy Kids Page” of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) explains, it is a fossil fuel that needs to be drilled for.

One would hope that Pelosi had studied up on the issue since then, but her comments after the House passed a bill codifying the ban on most of the Outer Continental Shelf shows she still does not. Pelosi told The Washington Post: “We’re not trying to give incentives to drill, we’re giving incentives to invest in renewables and natural gas that will take us where we need to go.”

Again, where does Pelosi think natural gas comes from? If the government is “giving incentives” to natural gas, it is giving incentives to drill. That is how we get natural gas.

And to think that Madam Botox is second in line to the presidency!

McCain part of the blame for Fannie/Freddie/AIG collapses?

That’s what The One of Supremely Thin Skin and his disciples on the left and in the MSM (pardon the redundancy) charge.  There’s just one small problem: it’s not true.

In short, Mac was putting on the full-court press in February of 2006 for passage of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005.  He foresaw the impending credit crisis and warned that not passing the bill could have consequences that bear a remarkable resemblance to the ones we’re seeing today!  In a nutshell: he accurately predicted what would happen.

Did Democrats listen to him?  Nope.  Chris Dodd, the ranking committee member and beneficiary of Countrywide’s “ultra-generous” loans, killed the bill in committee.  Two executives who benefited from falsification of financial records became advisers to Obama, and Obama took hundreds of thousands of bucks from lobbyists specifically mentioned by McCain.  So tell me again: exactly who has the proper judgment here?

Obama a victim of the “gloomy” economy

Heh.

So what does Barack Obama do after a hard day of defending the common man during the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression?

Throw a $28,500-a-head fundraising dinner, of course.

Followed by a $2,500-a-head reception featuring Barbra Streisand singing a song or two.

The Democratic presidential candidate spent the day Tuesday campaigning in Colorado, where he talked to supporters about the mortgage crisis that has reshaped Wall Street and caused many people to lose their homes.

Speaking a day after the stock market had its worst day since 2001, he assured a rally in the Denver suburb of Golden that he understood the impact the crisis was having from Wall Street to Main Street.

“Jobs have disappeared, and peoples’ life savings have been put at risk. Millions of families face foreclosure, and millions more have seen their home values plummet,” he said.

“These are the struggles that Americans are facing. This is the pain that has now trickled up.”

Then he jetted off to Los Angeles (Beverly Hills, if I’m not mistaken. – Ed.) Tuesday evening for a pair of glitzy fundraisers that could be the biggest for Democrats during this election cycle.

Because Barry and Hollyweird are just, you know, a bunch of average American Joes and Janes, right?  But hey, don’t you go thinking he’s some kind of elitist or anything, m’kay?  Retorts J-Mac:

“(He) talks about siding with the people, siding with the people — just before he flies off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends,” McCain told a rally in Vienna, Ohio, a critical battleground state. “Let me tell you my friends, there’s no place I’d rather be than here with the working men and women of Ohio.”

Obama brags about his stimulus bill that…um…wasn’t the bill that passed

The Obamaliar is at it again.  You would think that Jesus the “community organizer” would be familiar with that pesky “Thou shalt not lie” commandment thingy.  Alas, ’tis not the case.  From ABC News:

In Golden, Colo., today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., took credit for the stimulus package that passed earlier this year.

“In January, I outlined a plan to help revive our faltering economy,” Obama said, “which formed the basis for a bipartisan stimulus package that passed the Congress.”

Is that true?

Democrats on Capitol Hill who support Obama say no.

Wanting Obama to win, however, none will say so on the record.

But media accounts from the time make it clear that even though Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., all offered legislation to provide stimulus to the economy, congressional leaders looped them and their legislation out of negotiations.

Moreover, Obama today was guilty of inflating his role in the creation of that bill.

Maybe he invented the Internet, too.  Oops, my bad…wrong lying Democrat politician.

You would think that he could have at least bothered to vote for the stimulus bill for which he shamelessly and falsely takes credit for crafting!  Nope.

Exit question: If his resume is so gosh-darned impressive, why is he always getting caught making up shiite for his accomplishments?  As Ace notes: “When you’ve done nothing at all — except for the writing (ghostwriting?) of two memoirs telling the world how you’d done nothing at all for forty years of your life — you’re required to claim credit for things that sort of happened nearby you.”

Rehashing old (and thus far, failed) meme

If you oppose the Obamessiah’s benediction election this November, it isn’t because of his Marxist view of economics; his anemic track record; his shameful devaluing of human life and his support for infanticide; his sexist streak; his defeatist mindset in the war on terrorism; etc.

Nope…it’s only because you’re racist.  No thoughts necessary, no pesky debates about policies, nothing like that at all is needed.  Just toss out a “you’re racist” and hope to shame people into voting for the schmuck.  Two new people are trying that approach:  Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (way to endear yourselves to the folks in your red state who are roundly rejecting The One, Kathy) and CNN’s resident moonbat Jack Cafferty.

Say, how’s that approach been working so far?  Not very well, from what I can tell.

Exit question: Isn’t it racist for the 90+% of blacks to vote for Obambi because he is black?

Does ABC News think Palin is running for president?

Kevin Williamson uncovered this:

Here’s all you need to know about the state of the elections…

A tally of name appearances at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, September 16, on the ABC News website at “The Blotter from Brian Ross and The Investigate Team”

Palin: 24

McCain: 2

Biden: 1

Obama: 0

One is tempted, and I think I will, to use the “Send Tips to Brian” link in the upper right of the page to let him know that not only is Sarah Palin not running for President, but I have heard Barack Obama might be….

Nope…no liberal media bias!
