    It’s like I said in the “Sick of Politics” post: while I clearly hope McCain wins, I am willing to accept God’s plan one way or the other. Life is too short to wrap oneself in a cocoon of gloom.

    Sorry, but I am going to have to disagree with you here. Assuming for a moment that not touring would be helpful to the planet (an assumption that I do not agree with), how does this announcement help? She is currently under contract with Caesars Palace. Her current schedule is Las Vegas exclusively. So, if she’s already not touring, how does it help? It’s nonsense.

  7. She’s promising not to go again, so I’ll give her that. Bette Midler actually did a lot to preserve the public gardens here so that could be why I’m soft on her.

  9. In the interest of saving the planet, I have decided to not drive a car.

    However, considering that I haven’t owned a car in over four years, that promise now seems as empty as Barack Obama’s suit.
