Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

PETA finds source of autism: cow’s milk

Is there no shame that these individuals feel for crap like this?  From WABC-TV:

The animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has put up a billboard in Newark claiming there is a link between cow’s milk and autism.

The group says the billboard shows a bowl of milk and cereal with the tagline “Got Autism?” in imitation of the “Got Milk?” campaign.

The sign also claims that studies have shown a link between cow’s milk and autism. The group cites two European studies that link autism to milk consumption and show a link between dairy-free diets and improved autism symptoms. …

This will no doubt come as a huge shock to parents of autistic kids who breastfed their kids and didn’t give them any dairy products.  When you have to lie in order to bring people to your point of view, that means your point of view is deficient, weak, and full of holes.  PETA has proved that time and again.

By the way, for those who know someone with autism, I leave you with this thought, from John 9:1-3:

1 As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.

2 And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?”

3 Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so (D)that the works of God might be displayed in him.

No one is being punished by God by having autistic kids, relatives, or friends.  Please remember that.

Night and Day, “Obama hates genocide” edition

The One of Alternating Stances last night:

Moderator Tom Brokaw asked the candidates what their “doctrine” would be “in situations where there’s a humanitarian crisis, but it does not affect our national security,” such as “the Congo, where 4.5 million people have died since 1998,” or Rwanda or Somalia.

In such cases, answered Obama, “we have moral issues at stake.” Of course the United States must act to stop genocide, he said. “When genocide is happening, when ethnic cleansing is happening . . . and we stand idly by, that diminishes us.

L’hypocrite supreme last year:

“Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep US forces there,” the AP reported on July 20, 2007 …

Translation: Genocide is awful, unless it’s happening to Iraqis,  in which case “Who cares?”  Got it?

What an awful human being!  As Jacoby asks, “What kind of candidate is it whose moral response to genocide – genocide – can reverse itself 180 degrees in a matter of months? Is that the kind of candidate who ought to be the leader of the free world?”  James 3:14 states that “But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.”  Proverbs 19:5 warns “A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who tells lies will not escape.”  Something tells me that The One isn’t sweating it, and he is a fool for it.

MSM deciders not bright enough to know world leaders

With the multiple layers of fact-checkers at their disposal, one would think that the MSM would be a little more up to speed on current events in the world, no?  From Neo-neocon:

A hilarious example of press bias against Palin occurred last Friday on “The Diane Rehm Show,” a production of Washington’s WAMU-FM. The exchange between hostess Rehm, caller Tom of Norwich, Vt., and Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne begins at about 46:10 of the “10:00 News Roundup”:Tom: I just wonder why not more has been made of the statement by Palin during the debate last night that “Maliki and the Talabani”–this is a quote from the transcript–”also in working with us are knowing again that we are getting closer and closer to the point of victory.” The Talibani obviously are our absolute enemy and have been since 9/11; Maliki, our central ally in Iraq. This to me is a tremendous blunder, revealing a very superficial familiarity with these sorts of terms.

Rehm: Thanks for calling, Tom. . . . E.J.?

Dionne: I think that “superficial” is absolutely the right word for the knowledge or the lack of knowledge Palin showed yesterday. I’m glad the caller raised that one, and I suspect there is going to be a scouring of that transcript for exactly that sort of gaffe. That has echoes of some of the stuff she said to Katie Couric.

There would have to be some mighty ferocious scouring to find a gaffe here other than Tom’s (who can be excused) and Dionne’s (who cannot). Even a lowly blogger like me knows the difference between Talabani and the Taliban. As does Sarah Palin (scroll down to VP Debate at 9:42).

But evidently the news that Talabani is the President of Iraq hasn’t yet penetrated the infinitely superior and deep brain of the sagacious WaPo journalist Dionne. Maybe his excuse is that he’s been listening too much to foreign policy expert Senator Biden, he of “France and the US kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon” fame.

And Palin is the one who’s supposed to be “less than informed”?  We see here that she has at least one pseudo-intellectual leftist “elite” outfoxed.

Exit question: Anyone holding their breath waiting for a correction/apology from E.J. Dionne?  Me neither.
