Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Can you be a born-again Christian and support Obama?

I touched on this briefly once before, but I will elaborate a little more on it right now.  The question in the headline isn’t rhetorical, so I’ll answer it:

No, you cannot truly be a born-again Christian and vote for Barack Obama.  I’ll try to keep this brief as possible.

See, a true born-again Christian is a child of God who has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of his/her life.  As such, the born-again Christian has agreed to replace his/her will with that of God.  This person will have his/her eyes opened up to truth, and the truth is that there is good and evil: anything that violates God’s will is evil.

True Christians are expected to be tolerant of good, but not tolerant of evil (Amos 5:15)!  There are several passages in Scripture whereby God expects us to condemn sin and He heaps scorn upon us when we don’t.  Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 are two examples early on.  God condemned Eli for tolerating his sons’ sinful behavior (1Samuel 3:12-13).  The so-called prophets of Jerusalem “strengthened the hand of evildoers” and were an abomination in God’s eyes (Jeremiah 23:14).  And of course, Isaiah 5:20 warns those who “call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”  The list goes on.

The point is this: God expects us to be intolerant of evil, and to certainly not enable it!

That brings me to my point: Barack Obama is an evil man.  He abets abortion, and he enabled and defended infanticide.  He lies with impugnity, without remorse.  He is corrupt beyond words.  All of these are not opinions: they are demonstrable facts.  As such, he is not a born-again Christian…but he is an unrepentant evil man.

So-called “Christians” who value the outcome of elections over their own salvation are guilty of putting a god before God Almighty, a clear violation of “You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).  One of the reasons I decided to stop blogging at the end of this year was for that reason: I could no longer put politics ahead of all else, if dealing with the ins and outs of politics caused my soul to be poisoned.

Additionally, here’s a clear repudiation of those who enable evil men from Romans 1:28,32: “28 And just as they [fools] did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.”  In other words, those who tolerate (and even laud) the wicked are just as much of an abonimation (in this case, an Obamination) in God’s eyes as the wicked.

If you are a true, born-again Christian, you cannot enable such a clearly evil man by voting for him because you agree with him on the environment, economy, or anything else.  Your faith…nay, God’s word…compels you to reject him.  Anything less simply shows the fruits you bear to be rancid.

  1. Crush, I’m sure this post is going to anger some of your leftist visitors, but you are absolutely right. And I agree with you that Obama is an evil man. A Godly man would not associate with the people Obama does.
Bottom line: Christians cannot leave their morality outside the door of the voting booth.

  2. I’m sure it will anger some, KG. However, I serve to please God, not man.

Also, I’m not saying that a born-again Christian MUST vote for McCain. But I am saying that a born-again Christian CANNOT vote for Obama.

Christians cannot leave their morality outside the door of the voting booth.

That’s probably a better way to express my closing argument! :)

  4. I think that a Christian still in the infant/milk stage could possibly vote for the myth of Obama. I remember, in my early Christian years, not being too enlightened. I know back then I was not sure when life started, until I finally read it in the Word. So, if you met me before that, my stand on abortion would have shown me messed up, but still born-again. I think God takes the scales from our eyes, sometimes gradually, or our brains will explode with the white-light of total knowledge and immediate revelation! Some get it faster, and have the gift of discernment (God bless them!). Some of us are alittle slower on the uptake. I hold fast to the promise that God will complete in me (all of us!) what he started. The same for the infant Christian still on milk (as Paul described). So, I guess our job is to speak truth but temper it with grace. God will do the rest.

May I say, I will miss your writing. You have been a treasure.God bless you.

I’d venture to say not too many leftists have the depth to know God. Consequently, not too many leftists would be angered… I hope I’m wrong, though.

  7. Sarah Pulliam has interviewed Senator Obama(see below). People, I lived in AZ and know how Sen. Mccain has treated the Apaches in recent years — terrible (you need to talk to the real Apaches, not thoe showcased, corrupted ones, to learn the trut–or be a teacher there, as I was….). In addition, Sen. McCain gambles, drinks, is a party animaal, uses the name Of the Lord in vain, has a bad temper, and has done corrupt things. Sen. Obama has worked with many committees and works with people he doesn’t always agree with personally,as everyone who has worked with the poor must do (I know, from experience, that all kinds of people are on these committees, and you have no choice but to put up with them on cmmittees, or else, you can;t be on the cmmittee and can do nothing good for anyone–thus we have an association with Prof. Ayers that in no way meant that Sen. Obam, who denounced Ayers’ former activities, should be blamed — all important committees have their share of strong people with various backgrounds).
I know Sen. Obama has spent years of his life trying to help people. I am a former member of the orlando Human crisis Council and even in Florida knew of Barack Obama, some years ago, for the good he did in the Chicago area, which is near where I was born and where my relatives live. He can shoot baskets — 3 pointers– because he’s spent so many years of his life with the poor kids.
I’m not saying he is a perfect person, but he is sincere — and he is intelligent and teachable. He CAN be taught to better understand and work with us on abortion issues. You know not what you do if you vote for Sen. McCain.

As for Gov. Palin, she is, unfortunately, run by ‘handlers’ behind the scene, who tell her what to do… Her little baby needs her, but she didn’t even ‘blink’ she said, before accepting the invitation to become the VP nominee.

I never wrote before this year for anybody, but cannot keep silent when I see how good people are being incited to evil thoughts (“Kill him!”)– and lies being spoken inciting hatred– a lynching mood. Please read Pulliam’s interview with Sen. Obama, a portion of which I reprint here, which shows that Sen. Obama is a true Christian:

PULLOAM: You’ve talked about your experience walking down the aisle at Trinity United Church of Christ, and kneeling beneath the cross, having your sins redeemed, and submitting to God’s will. Would you describe that as a conversion? Do you consider yourself born again?

OBAMA: I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn’t ‘fall out in church’ as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn’t want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.

There is one thing that I want to mention that I think is important. Part of what we’ve been seeing during the course this campaign is some scurrilous e-mails that have been sent out, denying my faith, talking about me being a Muslim, suggesting that I got sworn in the U.S. Senate with a Quran in my hand or that I don’t pledge allegiance to the flag. I think it’s really important for your readers to know that I have been a member of the same church for almost 20 years, and I have never practiced Islam. I am respectful of the religion, but it’s not my own. One of the things that’s very important in this day and age is that we don’t use religion as a political tool and certainly that we don’t lie about religion as a way to score political points. I just thought it was important to get that in there to dispel rumors that have been over the Internet. We’ve done so repeatedly, but obviously it’s a political tactic of somebody to try to provide this misinformation.

  9. Anne,

Thank you for your comments. There is so much factually and logically erroneous stuff in your comment, but I’m only going to address one of them:

Please read Pulliam’s interview with Sen. Obama, a portion of which I reprint here, which shows that Sen. Obama is a true Christian

Obama is a liar. The Bible tells us in several instances about liars, and Obama is a demonstrated and unapologetic liar. I have shown a number of his lies on this blog alone, including the post today about how he knows Bill Ayers. He said he barely knew him, then he worked with him but didn’t know he was a terrorist, then he admitted he knew Ayers was a terrorist but thought he was rehabilitated. If Obama will lie about his shady associations (Ayers, Wright, Dohrn, Rezko, Raines, Jim Johnson), do you think he wouldn’t lie about his salvation? Frankly, I am disappointed that your threshold of evidence is merely a man’s own flattering words about himself.

Plus, Obama is a supporter of abortion AND infanticide. Please re-read my post about his unholy defense of infanticide and his spirited efforts to thwart the IL version of the Infants Born Alive Act. The Bible is clear on the sanctity of innocent life.

Look, I didn’t say that Obama is a Muslim. Some folks think he is, and some don’t. But it is abundantly and perfectly clear that he is NOT a born-again Christian.

Anne, the Bible tells us that we are to recognize people by their fruits. Obama’s record and his actions clearly show that his fruits are rotten. You can’t say “I’m a born-again Christian” and support abortion and infanticide AND be an unrepentant liar. You can’t whitewash that. Yes, we ALL sin, and as 1 Timothy 1:15 says, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief“. I am no more and no less of a sinner than Obama is. However, I repent of my sins, while Obama has shown that he most certainly does not.

Finally, my contention was not that McCain IS a born-again Christian or that a born-again Christian can ONLY vote for McCain. After all, if McCain has done those things that you say he does/did, then you would have a 100% valid argument about born-again Christians not voting for McCain. However, my contention is (and Scripture backs me up) that you can NOT be a born-again Christian and vote for Barack Obama. Period.

  10. Dear Ms. Baker:

With all due respect, your post is the most asinine convolution of “reasoning” I have read in a long time. That interview only shows Obama as a true liar, not a true Christian. There have been many people over the ages who lied in the name of Jesus…and I think there’s a special no-waiting door in Hell for those people. Crush is right. It is the fruits of the spirit that reveal the soul. The question of whether Obama follows Jesus stops cold at the abortion question. No one, and I mean NO ONE who believes in what Jesus teaches would vote the way Obama voted….not only to allow abortion, but to allow living children born after botched abortions to DIE.

In the interviews, Obama says “I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful”

Well, tell me. Ms Baker, who among us is more weak and powerless than an unborn child?.

A liar is also one who talks about people behind their backs. Have you forgotten the “clinging to guns and religion” comments made to a California crowd? I do believe he was talking about the same middle class America he panders to now, “feeling their pain on the ecomony”.

I for one see through Barack Obama. There are many more like me but sadly, maybe not enough.

Your Obama may very well win the election, as there seem to be a whole lot of gullible people, even Christians, taken in by this man. But make no mistake, he is NOT a Christian.

  11. Well said TTH! I wish that all the BHO followers would only truthfully ask themselves one question.
If a white man/brown man/yellow man/red man with Obama’s accomplishments were running for this office, would he have even a remote chance of making it past his own primary?
This is not a racist question but an honest inquiry.

manipulation and witchcraft to make such generaliztions, .

Comment by tom sheridan | October 24, 2008

  14. Tom, you are NOT a born-again Christian. You will have to explain to God how you are able to empower a man who fights to allow God’s children to be slaughtered.

Read Romans 1:32: “32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.” In other words, those who tolerate (and even laud) the wicked are just as much of an abonimation (in this case, an Obamination) in God’s eyes as the wicked.

Maybe you agree with Obama’s environmental, economic, or social policies. Fair enough. But the Bible is perfectly clear on what is good and what is evil, and God makes no distinction between acts of evil and those who permit, enable, and empower acts of evil. Obama is a demonstrable liar and a demonstrable defender of letting infants who survive abortion attempts die…NONE of those things are pleasing in God’s eyes. Amos instructs us not to tolerate evil, but that is exactly what you are doing, sir.

it is manipulation and witchcraft to make such generaliztions, .

Actually, it is a reading of the Scriptures that compels me to make an unambiguous statement of fact. You may be the first “born-again Christian” I’ve ever known who has a problem with God’s word.

In short, you’re being a little “less than honest” about your salvation. That lack of honesty goes a long way in explaining why you’re voting for your Obamessiah.

  15. Thanks Crush

I really enjoyed your article titled “Calling Evil Good: Obama and His Support of Infanticide?” You are so right! I am very concerned about the direction our nation is headed. I truly feel we are rapidly heading into the last days. Only 20 years ago we would have never believed we would have a man with the back ground of Barack Hussein Obama as a serious contestant for the presidency of this nation. To select a man that can blatenly call evil Good and Good evil just shows the great deception that Satan has perpetrated on our world. My uppermost desire is to reach as many lost people as possible with the message of Jesus Christ who alone can snatch them from the Fires of Hell.

Keep putting out the truth. the program below is my contribution to reach the lost. May God bless all you do to reach the Lost. God Loves them all they are just deceived by Satan’s great deception.
