Obama embraces his inner Marxist

From The One’s own mouth, in Ohio:

Barack Obama told a tax-burdened plumber over the weekend that his economic philosophy is to “spread the wealth around” — a comment that may only draw fire from riled-up John McCain supporters who have taken to calling Obama a “socialist” at the Republican’s rallies. 

Obama made the remark, caught on camera, after fielding some tough questions from the plumber Sunday in Ohio, where the Democratic candidate canvassed neighborhoods and encouraged residents to vote early. 

“Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” the plumber asked, complaining that he was being taxed “more and more for fulfilling the American dream.” 

“It’s not that I want to punish your success (bovine feces! – Ed.). I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too,” Obama responded. “My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Team Mac responds:

“If Barack Obama’s goal as President is to ‘spread the wealth around,’ perhaps his unconditional meetings with Hugo Chavez, Raul Castro, and Kim Jong-Il aren’t so crazy — if nothing else they can advise an Obama administration on economic policy,” McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb said in a written statement to FOXNews.com. “In contrast, John McCain’s goal as president will be to let the American people prosper unburdened by government and ever higher taxes.”

But hey, why would anyone get this crazy idea that Obama is a Marxist?

  1. This ought to scare the daylights out of every working American!
    Unfortunately, the people who are staunchly behind Obama are the folks who believe they are “behind” everyone else and are simply looking for a handout.
    It’s appalling.

  2. Ah yes, Hugh Hewitt played this audio on his show quite a few times last night — to drive the point home. It’s truly frightening when a modern presidential candidate can espouse bona fide socialist principles and continue to be loved by so many for doing so.

  4. Next thing you’ll know is Barack Hussein Obama will be redistributing our wealth to Africa as per the 20 years of instruction he received from Rev. Wright. What do they call taking Socialism to such heights? The founding of the Forth Reich? Chicago has taught him well how to smile and look you in your eye as he pulls your cash from your pocket. Should we start the Impeachment process now?

  5. Since I heard these words spoken to Joe Wurzelbacher, I have really been concerned over the future of America. “Spreading the wealth around” is not the worst of it. Obama has major philosophical differences with our very Constitution, and thus with the entire American way of life. Ironically, it is the Constitution which has created the environment for Obama (and millions of other Americans) to prosper.

    If we had a Republican Congress to keep his adoration of Marx in check, it would be alot easier to bear. Should he gain power (in a mere week), he’ll have the luxury of a Democrat Congress.
