The left’s selective outrage, example #4,236,745
Excellent cartoon and analysis. The cartoon is from Jim Morin of Miami’s fishwrap:

Ed adds his commentary:
Let’s get this straight. The Left shrugged at Obama’s twenty years of alliance with a minister who spouted an infamous “God Damn America”. They sniffed when Jeremiah Wright called 9/11 “America’s chickens coming home to roost”. They may have even nodded their heads in agreement when the pastor to whom Obama gave over $20,000 in 2006 accused the US government of creating the HIV virus and AIDS as a genocidal tool against people of color.
However, Rick Warren offers public support for a California proposition that keeps marriage defined as his faith prescribes, and suddenly Obama has betrayed their trust. Really? They see a one-time association over a 60-second invocation as a betrayal of their values, when Obama’s twenty years with, and significant material support for, a raving anti-American demagogue like Wright didn’t disturb them in the least?
At least we know where their values lie.
If you have not yet done so, feel free to question the left’s patriotism…or their sanity.

At least we know where their values lie.
What values?

liberal values: any belief that will garner votes and/or positive media coverage.

Ya know. The scariest thing I encountered this weekend was my VERY liberal family Minus my dad who is ex military who keeps his mouth shut. I actually went at it with my uncle about rev. wright. and he cursed me out like o bodies business. Then I mentioned Warren and he had nothing to say. My family is extremely religious yet they are very liberal. how ever. if you mention anything against “the one” or homosexual rights they scream foul. You mention warren then they seem to be like ” OK”. Go figure.

The Left does have values, minority rights over majority rule. They are for the minority view on every issue and turn it around using their friends in the MSM to make it seem it’s the majority view. Let’s look at the issues. Gay marriage, Drilling for oil, nuclear energy, clean coal, Protecting America, Abortion, Environment over Economy, Unions over Owners, Higher taxes and more spending over lower taxes and fiscal responsibility.
As John always points out the left is all about feelings. Feeling sorry for the little guy. Feeling sorry for the minority view.

my response was posted on my site.
My office is about 3 miles from Saddleback, and many of my fellow employees attend, or are members.
What annoys me the most is defending Rick against right wingers who argue he’s compromising the gospel by accepting Obama’s invatation.
Hope your Christmas was good, J.
