Hell freezes over: AP reports Obama’s tax lies
What’s the over/under on how long it will take this soon-to-be-former AP writer to lose his job? Excerpt:
President Barack Obama promised to fix health care and trim the federal budget deficit, all without raising taxes on anyone but the wealthiest Americans. It’s a promise he’s already broken and will likely have to break again. Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress have already increased tobacco taxes — which disproportionately hit the poor — to pay for extending health coverage to 4 million children in working low-income families.
Now, lawmakers are looking for more revenues to help pay for providing medical insurance to millions more who lack it at a projected cost of $1 trillion over the next decade.
The floated proposals include increasing taxes on alcohol, which could raise $62 billion over the next decade, and a new tax on sugary drinks such as soda, which could raise $52 billion. …
Obama made a firm tax pledge during the presidential campaign, repeating it numerous times in the weeks and months leading up to Election Day: no tax increases for individuals making less than $200,000 a year or couples making less than $250,000.
“Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes,” Obama told a crowd in Dover, N.H., last year.
How this one escaped the passing of the Kool-Aid cup is beyond me.

As time goes on, it’s going to become more and more difficult for the press to cover the stench of Obama’s lies. I only hope and pray the kool-aid intoxication wears off by 2012!
As for health insurance, whatever happened to being responsible and taking care of yourself and your family? If you want insurance, pay for it yourself! People have no stop thinking it’s their right to pick their neighbor’s pocket to fund their every need or want!

Hell freezes over: AP reports Obama’s tax lies
Well, so much for global warming

KG,
I agree with you on the health care debate. As for the press and 2012, I expect them to right on the band wagon for the election. The press will never go against the Dems. It an evil cabal bent on destroying America and replacing it with a one world socialist government. Hopefully the Americans will stop drinking the Kool-Aide by then and vote the fool out.

Pingback by Night and Day, “Obama on raising taxes on the middle class” edition « Crush Liberalism | February 11, 2010
It is so frustrating that there were many of us out there trying to warn people about what their vote for Obama meant. If you simply added up the numbers, you could see that they would eventually get around to raising taxes. What is even more insidious is that the president submitted a budget with a deficit over 1.5 trillion, and now he says he’s “agnostic” about raising taxes.
I, too, hope the Kool Aid intoxication wears off. But, I hope there will be a renewed appreciation for liberty and responsibility in America.
