Obama: Stimulus has worked. Obama’s economic adviser: No, it hasn’t.
The left hand doesn’t seem to know what the right…er, other left…is doing. From Oprompter:
President Barack Obama said his $787 billion stimulus bill “has worked as intended” as he pushed back against Republican criticism that his recovery program has failed to rescue the economy.
From his Economic Council director:
Onward, then, to the toughest economic challenge Summers faces today: the recession. Here, Summers turns sombre: “I don’t think the worst is over … It’s very likely that more jobs will be lost. It would not be surprising if GDP has not yet reached its low.
Well, at least he’s got both bases covered, huh?

Why doesn’t someone then ask the obvious questions here…
Then it was your intention to take unemployment to 9.5% and possibly higher?
Comment by DJ | July 13, 2009
I’m surprised that the administration can’t get their message together. Like him or not, Obama as good at staying on message and keeping focused when running for office. So I guess he’s no longer “No Problem Obama” as he was called behind the scenes by the press, and now he’s, “Houston, We’ve got a Problem, Obama.”

DJ – I think that was EXACTLY his intention. The more people that are forced onto unemployment, the more people the government is able to control.

Maybe this will allow Omama to appoint a Teleprompter Czar. The total is now in excess of 30.

KG,
I believe this was his intention too. In fact today he indicates unemployment could go higher. It’s disgusting that nobody is calling him out on any of this. Is it going to take armed revolt to get answers???
Comment by DJ | July 14, 2009
DJ, not only is unemployment going to go higher, while everyone is watching the Sotomayor farce of a confirmation hearing, Obama is behind the scenes cramming through his healthcare plan. He’s the David Copperfield of politics and sleight of hand is his favorite magic trick. They are actually planning to FORCE every American to purchase health insurance, and those who refuse will be FINED.
Welcome to the USSA!
