Obama: Hey, my health care plan will be as awesome as the Postal Service!
In trying to counter the argument that ObamaCare will cripple private insurance, The One tries his hand at an analogy. He says to just look at FedEx, UPS, and the Postal Service. He says FedEx and UPS are doing just fine, and that “it’s the Postal Service that’s always having problems”! See for yourself:
Dude…you just friggin’ proved our point! Private enterprise, when left unmolested by Big Government, will innovate every time. Whereas a government entity trying to do what businesses do (in this example, the Postal Service) will be bastions of inefficiency and waste…which is exactly what the USPS is! His ham-handed analogy is accurate, though: private insurance is like FedEx and UPS, and ObamaCare will be like the USPS.
Hilariously noted by Allah:
Well, now I’m sold. If only he’d sweetened the pot and promised us it’d be like the DMV, I’d be ready to don an SEIU shirt and beat some protesters myself.
According to Pelosi’s “logic”, SEIU union thugs are un-American
Think about it: Pe-loco says that protestors of ObamaCare are un-American. Speaker Botox’s defenders say that she meant “drowning out voices” was the un-American part.
OK, let’s run with that for a sec, shall we? If that’s what you believe that San Fran Nan really meant, then you must concede that the union thugs in SEIU who are violently attacking ObamaCare protestors are, by logical extension and by definition, un-American. Details, quoting SEIU’s own announcement:
Action: Opponents of reform are organizing counter-demonstrators to speak at this and several congressional town halls on the issue to defend the status quo. It is critical that our members with real, personal stories about the need for access to quality, affordable care come out in strong numbers to drown out their voices.
I look forward to Pe-loony coming out and loudly condemning SEIU for such blatant “un-American” activity.
By the way, SEIU apparently had their irony-rich announcement brought to their attention, so they’ve redacted their original wording (the “drown out” part) and replaced it with “counter”. Unfortunately for them, Al Gore’s invention has made it possible to capture their original “un-American” call to arms. Boy, for a bunch of tough guys who assault people, they sure are cowardly when it comes to their own words, no?
MSNBC anchor: You think maybe “socialist” is kinda like the “n-word”?
From the Thrill in the Leg network, MSNBC, via Newsbusters:
Did you know that when you refer to someone as a socialist, you’re really calling them the N-word?
Such an astonishing hypothesis was offered by MSNBC’s Carlos Watson Monday in a segment he refers to as “The ‘C’ Note.”
…Today I want to talk about a word that we’re hearing more and more, and that’s the word socialist. You hear it from a lot of conservatives these days, that’s usually critiquing the President, or more broadly Democrats. And while that’s certainly a legitimate critique, there certainly is an ideology that can and should be critiqued at certain times, it also some times is just a kind of a generic conservative bludgeoning tool. And that’s alright, too, because you hear it on the Democratic side as well: rightwingnut, what have you.
But what concerns me is when in some of those town hall meetings including the one that we saw in Missouri recently where there were jokes made about lynching, etc., you start to wonder whether in fact the word socialist is becoming a code word, whether or not socialist is becoming the new N-word for frankly for some angry upset birthers and others. I hope that’s not the case, but it sure does say to you what David Brooks said the other day on T.V. which is that more credible conservatives have to stand up and say that there’s a line that has to be drawn, that there’s a line of responsibility that’s important, and that extends to the words that we choose including how choose even legitimate words like socialist.
WTH? So “socialist” is a legitimate word, but we can’t use it because it may convey bigotry?
Allah notes that the accusation is patently ludicrous, since had Her Highness been elected instead of B.O. and pushed these same policies (cap-and-tax, takeover of the auto industry, socialized medicine), we’d be calling her a socialist, too. And in case you may not have noticed, Hillary is a bit on the Caucasian side.
Nope…no liberal media bias!
