Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Ted Kennedy dead

Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.

Look, I do not rejoice in his passing, nor do I take any kind of pleasure in his death.  His family and friends are grieving, and I would be a poor excuse of a Christian if I were pleased by this.  I am not.  I’m not like the moonbats, who got giddy when Reagan and Tony Snow (among others) died.  My heart is not black like theirs.

I will not, though, join in this chorus of waxing eloquent about the man’s life.  He got away with killing a woman, if for no other reason than he was a Kennedy.  My disdain for that miscarriage of justice has nothing to do with his politics (with which I obviously disagreed, 100% of the time).  I’m not going to sing the praises of a man who allowed a woman to die a slow, watery death while he pondered the impact on his political career.

My heart goes out to his friends and family.

  1. I echo your sentiments Crush. I am sad for his family and friends, but I do not believe he is someone to be glorified, as we all know he will be by the press. I actually heard a newscaster this morning glorifying Kennedy for “surviving” the Chappedaquiddick incident. Too bad Mary Jo didn’t get that opportunity!

  2. Well said. I have never understood how someone could leave a helpless person to die, in such an obvious attempt to triangulate his own survival, and not only be elected over and over again through the years, but also to be held up as some national beacon. The horrific incident exemplifies the selfish celebrity/politician mentality. And the absurd level to which we sometimes look the other way.
