L.A. man charged with murdering his unborn child
Authorities say a 37-year-old Los Angeles man has been arrested on suspicion of murder for the death of an unborn child believed to be his.
Police said in a press release that Joshua Woodward was arrested Sunday in Los Angeles and is being held on $2 million bail in a county jail.
Police say the arrest came after an investigation on Monday revealed “suspicious circumstances of a miscarriage.” Investigators estimate the fetus was in its 13th week.
Police released no information on the mother or the circumstances of the child’s death.
The release says Woodward is believed to have ties to Miami and Chicago and detectives are also seeking information in those cities.
Investigators are set to present the case to prosecutors on Tuesday.
A deputy at the jail had no information on an attorney for Woodward.
Just to recap:
When a mother wants to be rid of her unborn child, it’s not muder…it’s a “health care procedure”, and one that Pelosi and Co. want to federally fund.
When a man wants to be rid of his unborn child, it’s murder…and a heinous one, too.
When a woman kills her unborn child, it’s not a “child”, but a fetus.
When a man kills his unborn child, it’s not a fetus, but a “child”.
God help us.

John,
In this world if you are male, white, Christian, patriotic, straight or conservative you are wrong on every issue regardless of truth or facts. If your all of the above, well..you’re the antichrist! The question is, How did we end up in this sorry state? I feel like Alice from Through the Looking Glass.

This is a story worth following due to its larger legal ramifications. If the suspect doesn’t plead out first (and I imagine that there are some lawyers out there scrambling to be part of this), the legal definitions could be quite interesting.
As you note, if the mother decided to abort, there would be no crime. This would be the suspect’s strongest defense. However, if it is defined that it is only a crime based on the mother’s intent (i.e. she did not want the abortion), how far does this open the legal floodgates for abortions performed against the mother’s intent to save her life? What about organizations like Planned Parenthood which have been caught advising minors? Would the minor’s parent’s intent then take the legal foreground?
Moreover, if this gets tried and appealed, could we possibly see a legal definition of when life begins pre-birth? Interesting prospects.
