Top climate research scientist drops bombshell: OK, if you really want to get super technical, there is NO global warming
You’d think a stunning admission like this…
The embattled ex-head of the research center at the heart of the Climate-gate scandal dropped a bombshell over the weekend, admitting in an interview with the BBC that there has been no global warming over the past 15 years.
Phil Jones, former head of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, made a number of eye-popping statements to the BBC’s climate reporter on Sunday. Data from CRU, where Jones was the chief scientist, is key evidence behind the claim that the growth of cities (which are warmer than countryside) isn’t a factor in global warming and was cited by the U.N.’s climate science body to bolster statements about rapid global warming in recent decades.
…
Jones also allowed for the possibility that the world as a whole was warmer in medieval times than it is today — a concession that may also undermine theories that global warming is caused by man.
…would get more news coverage than just Fox News, the Washington Times, and a small blurb on CNN. Instead, here’s been the MSM’s coverage of this major story:
(crickets chirping…)
As Newsbusters points out, while the MSM ignored the Phil Jones admission that there has been zero warming, they certainly kept themselves busy with reporting that an overweight Hollywood producer got kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight. Priorities, priorities.
Nope…no liberal media bias!
Seriously: Why do they even pretend to be objective anymore?
Exit prediction: 2010 will go down as the year that the junk science fad known as “global warming” died a much deserved, albeit belated, death.

Climate Scientist Uses a Ouija Board:

Incredible Story – Have a great day !
Comment by Robert Feeley | February 16, 2010
Well at least until Summer….In August I predict the renewed chants of “Look how hot it is”….The only thing warming by man’s ignorance is Al Gores bank account…
Comment by Robert | February 16, 2010
Someone might want to alert the President. Since we know he doesn’t pay any attention to non-news sources like Fox, and since he did mention in his SOTU lecture that…
“I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change.”
…someone might want to let him know that the overwhelming evidence is against what he wants everyone to believe.

You guys should take a stats course and maybe some science, too. “No statistically significant warming” is not the same as “no warming.” I means the time period and the amount of warming, taken together, would not be conclusive proof of warming.
In fact, during the period that Jones specifically referenced, 1995-200, there was still a limited amount of warming.
And, of course, if one does not use a very narrow timeslice but considers the last 20, 30 or more years, there’s plenty of statistically significant warming available.

We might say the same of you junk science cultists, too. Pots and kettles and stuff.
97.342% of all stats are made up on the spot.
Seriously, THAT is your contention? “OK, it didn’t warm to be even a blip on the radar, but hey, a 0.0001 degree increase is STILL an increase”? Seriously??
I’ve got a 20-year high school reunion coming up this year. At my 10-year reunion, I weighed one pound more than I do today. So when I see my classmates, I can tell them “I’ve been slimming down” since they last saw me. I’m sure they’ll think “Wow, a whole pound! He’s practically melting away before our eyes!”
Global cooling has been going on, dude. The science is settled.
Comment by crushliberalism | March 9, 2010
It’s more like this… When you graduated in 1960, you weighed 160lbs. Between 1960 and 1995, your weight increases to 205 lbs. In 2005, you weigh 206 lbs.
At the 45th reunion, Some classmates ask you, “Have you gained any significant weight since graduation?” The answer is, “yes.”
Others ask, “Have you gained any significant weight since the 35th reunion?” A reasonable answer is “No.”
The idea that “the globe is cooling” as “settled science” is only true in the imagination of the Denialist blogosphere.
You didn’t even trouble to accurately quote Phil Jones. That says quite a lot about you.
I note that Faux News did accurately quote Jones but led with two paragraphs that incorrectly summarized what he said. That says a lot about Faux News and their assessment of their viewers and readers.
By the bye, “Jones also allowed for the possibility that the world as a whole was warmer in medieval times than it is today — a concession that may also undermine theories that global warming is caused by man.”
Jones isn’t a paleoclimatologist, so it’s a concession of negligible impact, except in the Denialist blogosphere.
And, I note, “hey, a 0.0001 degree increase is STILL an increase?” with amusement. Clearly spelled out in the article is .12degC/decade is the best (although not statistically significant) estimate of warming over the time period involved. Not “0.0001 degree.” Don’t you read ANYTHING carefully? Apparently not.

It’s called “sarcasm”, chuckles. Look into it.
“Denialist”, “Faux News”, and all the other unoriginal leftist ribs are there. And you wish to be taken seriously?
The science is settled: your side has been discredited, but kudos to you for keeping up the fight. Don Quixote would be proud.

“And you wish to be taken seriously?”
By “CrushLiberalism?” When “CrushLiberalism” thinks he’s posting on “science” by quoting Faux News? And doesn’t drill through to the easily found underlying article? And discover Faux News got it wrong? And doesn’t understand the language of science?
“Faux News” It’s called “irony,” chuckles. Look into it.

How many science guys got their arm twisted and “fudged the data” to show “Global Warming” otherwise known as “SEASONS”…Funny as hell to me, Al Goracle gets a Nobel for talking about ice bergs melting in the summer, and Obama gets one for a “Plan”…Only in the elite libturd mind would that even be possible…
I love how moron libturds call Fox news names, the only station not kissing Obama’s butt and getting warm feelings when he talks…When news stations were rude to Bush, it was “Patriotic” to question, but when Obama gets questioned… well that’s just wrong. Good ol Charlie, when your head clears the sand pit, shake it off and look around. You are being led to the slaughter like a sheep…

Q: Are you still here?
A: No, you’re not.
You’ve been an interesting museum piece, Chortles, but we’re moving on to the next exhibit. You’ve grown tiresome and are about as useful as the United Nations. Tell the folks at 3M we said “Hello”, m’kay?
