Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Quote of the day, “McCain gets serious about border enforcement” edition

Are we talking about John McCain, aka Juan McAmnesty?  The same McCain that bellyached about having to “build the g#d#mned. fence“?

Yep, the same McCain.  Quote:

“I believe that we can convince our Republican colleagues that we have to secure the border first,” McCain said during an appearance on KFYI radio in Arizona. “There’s no point of having immigration reform unless you can have the borders secure first.”

I don’t suppose this has anything to do with the fact that his numbers in the AZ primary have begun to crater, does it?  I mean, he’s fighting a longtime opponent of criminal immigration in J.D. Hayworth, and McCain has seen his fortunes go much like those of Charlie Crist in FL: from huge primary lead, to falling massively.  McCain still leads Hayworth in the polls, but that once-insurmountable lead looks…well, surmountable now.  How humiliating would it be, for both McCain and the GOP establishment, if the party’s presidential candidate from two years ago gets whacked in a Senate primary?

Straight talk McCain: he will straight up tell you how it is, and if you don’t like it, he’s more than willing to tell you something else until he figures out what you want to hear.

NYT tells us more bad stuff that will result from ObamaCare

As a follow-up to my previous post, the NYT is reporting even more negative fallout from the passage of ObamaCare.  Excerpt:

William Mann of Pittsburgh earns just enough to get by. He is 46, doesn’t own a car, hasn’t taken a vacation in three years and hasn’t had health insurance for most of his adult life.

He is just the kind of person who should benefit from the health care overhaul, and he is, in fact, eligible for heavily subsidized insurance that will cost him an estimated $1,845 a year, while the government contributes about $2,756.

But Mr. Mann says he still can’t afford it. He lives too close to the edge, and won’t be buying insurance, even though he will face a fine under a provision called the individual mandate, which penalizes most Americans who don’t buy coverage starting in 2014. The requirement is one of the most controversial aspects of the overhaul.

“I just can’t put that kind of money out for a ‘maybe’ — maybe I’ll get sick and use it,” said Mr. Mann, who makes just over $25,000 a year as an administrative assistant at a small wine distribution company. “That’s a lot of money.”

What?  I thought this was supposed to be a panacea for lower-income Americans?  You mean it’s not “free”?  Dude never gets sick, and yet he’s about to get penalized for having the temerity to…um…not get sick.

Boy, it sure is a good thing we’ve got the watchdogs in the media to tell us the ramifications of passing horrendous laws after said laws are passed.  You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d swear that the MSM was more interested in giving that miserable failure of a president any kind of signature policy win, and less interested in doing their d#mned jobs!

Nope…no liberal media bias!

Heavy-handed White House tactics used against reporters

From Politico:

Police chased reporters away from the White House and closed Lafayette Park today in response to a gay rights protest in which several service members in full uniform handcuffed themselves to the White House gate to protest “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

Well, maybe it was just a security precaution.  Oh, wait…

People who have covered the White House for years tell me that’s an extremely unusual thing to do in an area that regularly features protests.

In fairness to the White House, this was done by the police.  But were the cops asked to do this?  Considering the light-skinned…er, I mean “thin-skinned” Chicago thug machine running the show right now, it isn’t far-fetched to draw the conclusion, now is it?

New White House slogan: Transparency is for suckas!
