Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

Illegal immigrants in AZ: You know, if this sentiment keeps up, we just might leave!

Not content with letting MSNBC steal the absurd headlines, the AP decides to one-up the little-watched cable network with this headline:

“Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law”

An excerpt that needs to be re-read to be believed:

Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.

Is the AP implying that it isn’t a crime to be breaking the law by being here illegally?  If not, then the word “illegal” has no meaning.

Two thoughts here:

1.  Yeah, right, sure they’ll leave!  Suuuuuuure they will.

2.  If all it takes to export criminal aliens back to whence they came is a law like that of AZ, then every state needs to pass one pronto!

  1. As I noted last night, there are three things to note from this article:

    1) We needed to pass a law which makes breaking the law against the law – and democrats oppose this.

    2) We need to direct police to question a suspect about illegal activity should they suspect it – and democrats oppose this.

    3) Without even having the force of law, simply passing the law has illegals leaving Phoenix to go where breaking the law isn’t against the law and has citizens who would take advantage of the cheap labor fearing the legal ramifications of doing so. In short, the law appears to be working – and democrats hate this.

    Should conservatives begin to show the voting public that it is possible to pass effective laws, those rubes at the polls might start expecting government to actually serve the people – and we know that democrats oppose this.
