Liberalism: Why think when you can “feel”?

TV network execs, writers, and reporters donated to Obama and Dems in 2008

Why the big deal?  Well, considering that 88% of the donations of these people went to leftist candidates, I think it’s safe to say that they had a vested interest in the outcome of the elections they were covering, don’t you?  Excerpt:

The Democratic total of $1,020,816 was given by 1,160 employees of the three major broadcast television networks, with an average contribution of $880.

By contrast, only 193 of the employees contributed to Republican candidates and campaign committees, for a total of $142,863. The average Republican contribution was $744.

President Obama received 710 such contributions worth a total of $461,898, for an average contribution of $651 from the network employees. Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain received only 39 contributions totaling $26,926, for an average donation of $709.

By the way, how’s this for richness?

Disclosure of the heavily Democratic contributions by influential employees of the three major broadcast networks follows on the heels of controversy last week when it was learned that media baron Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. contributed $1 million to the Republican Governors Association.

The News Corp. donation prompted Nathan Daschle, executive director of the Democratic Governors Association and son of former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, to demand in a letter to Fox News chairman Roger Ailes that the cable news outlet include a disclaimer in its coverage of gubernatorial campaigns. Fox News is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Wall Street Journal.

So the Dems are A-OK with non-Fox “news” entities and their executives (and reporters and writers) donating to their party, but by (insert deity du jour here), you let Rupert Murdoch donate money to a Republican organization, and these hypocrites get their hemp thongs in a bunch!  Will Nathan D@$$h0le demand that NBC et al include a disclaimer for both of their viewers?

Nope…no liberal media bias!

Quote of the day, “Krauthammer hammers liberalism” edition

Dude, you absolutely must read Charles Krauthammer’s latest column.  Money quote (which, by the way, does NOT give you an excuse to skip reading his brilliance):

The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama over-read his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.

Exactamundo!  For as long as I’ve kept up with politics, one of the things that has always kept me from being a liberal (and the reasons are legion) is that the left is so arrogant, so condescending, so elitist…in spite of the fact that there is a mountain of evidence that proves their ways don’t work!  Hopefully, this November will illustrate that lesson to them yet again.
