1. Speaking of offensive. Let’s see you allow this comment… I wonder. Actually, God bless and keep you; and I happen to think even though it is not in Scripture, God doesn’t mind if we help — not ourselves, but others. And putting construction workers back to work seems like helping others to me. Take care, Lambskinny.

2. God has no problems with us helping others. He commands us as individuals to do just that. But your naivete, while quaint, blinds you to a few points:

   1. You assume that B.O.’s jobs bill makes an efficient use of taxpayer dollars to fund these construction workers. His track record begs to differ. He’s a functional retard when it comes to economics, and he’s got the reverse Midas touch: Everything he touches turns to crap. Jimmy Carter just called to say “Thanks for ensuring that I’m not the most feckless president in history.”

   2. Nearly a trillion dollars in Porkulus did nothing to stem unemployment. Another half trillion is going to, though?

   3. It’s not the job of the feds to create jobs. Government doesn’t create jobs, and the Dems have said as much. The feds could roll back the onerous anti-business regulations that the Marxist in Chief and his leftist comrades have choked businesses with for the last three years, and businesses would begin expanding. But right now, businesses won’t hire until the anti-capitalist regime is deposed.

   The private sector drives the economy. And as long as the private sector is under assault, the economy will remain in the crapper. A flourishing private sector will ensure that everyone who wants a job can get one, and presumably, that’s what you want, right? If you, as a purported Christian, really wanted to help the plight of your fellow man, you would work tirelessly to get commies out of government and let those who are not economic illiterates heal this country.

   IF (big “if”) one would just listen to what God says, one doesn’t have to try to figure out what He minds…a great example: Among 7 abominations, God hates (yes, hates) hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16-19).
   Slaughtering a baby in the womb is among the most obvious example of shedding innocent blood…but then there is the refusal to protect the baby that survives an attack on it’s life. What did the great Obama do? Obama could have really done something that “God doesn’t mind” but instead, he voted against The Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
   So while he dares try to connect a false claim of guaranteed employment to road workers with God’s will, he refused to prevent the shedding of innocent blood…yeah, he really needs to leave God’s name out of his schemes….

4. Actually, I think the scripture is in 2 Thessalonians 3:10. “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any WOULD NOT work, neither should he eat.”

5. Notice in Genesis 41:57, when Egypt had stored up grain for YEARS in preparation of a famine, the exact same principle mentioned in post 4 (by Im_bonafide) is at work. No government handouts. Joseph’s plan for rescuing the people from the Egyptian empire involved the people BUYING the grain…not the government just handing it out! “So all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to BUY grain, because the famine was severe in all lands.”
   Even in the ancient Egyptian empire, God’s man (Joseph) institutes a rescue plan that involves the people actually BUYING their food FROM the government…wow….interesting, no?
