Obama: Congress shouldn’t leave until they pass the payroll tax cut; now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to Hawaii for 17 days!
B.O. thinks some people ought to do their jobs…just not him. From The Hill:
Congress needs to pass an extension to the payroll tax cut and shouldn’t adjourn until they do, President Obama said in his weekly address.
“Both parties came together to cut payroll taxes for the typical middle-class family by about $1,000, but that tax cut is set to expire at the end of this month,” Obama said. “We can’t let that happen.”
…
“We’re going to keep pushing Congress to make this happen,” Obama said. “They shouldn’t go home for the holidays until they get this done.”
While most Americans are lucky to get a few weeks of holiday every year, it seems the country’s leader gets a little more freedom in the matter.
President Barack Obama has announced his Christmas vacation to Hawaii – for a staggering 17-day trip.
Obama, who visited the island just two weeks ago for an economic summit, will head to Honolulu on Saturday December 17 until Monday January 2.
Presidentin’: Nice work if you can get it.

I’m not one to give Obama any support, but the Presidency is a 24/7/365 job. No matter where he is, Washington D.C. or Hawaii, he’s on the job and able to influence Congress or handle international matters.
Congress, though has to be in Washington D.C. to do its work. Some may perceive hypocrisy, but it’s really not there.
I know the Dems used this issue with Bush, an it was a bogus argument then as well. Republicans or Conservatives should not sink as low to dig up flimsy arguments as this when Obama, Democrats and Liberals give us so much better cuts of red meat.

He’s gotta be in DC to sign a bill, no? Plus, he won’t be conducting any business there, Steve. It’s a vacation. He’s saying he gets a vacation and Congress doesn’t. That is hypocrisy, period.
Bush worked while not in DC. Obama doesn’t. Big difference. B.O. wants the perks of the office without the work of the office.

Crush, Obama doesn’t have to be there to sign. He can use auto pen like he has before. Besides, Congress goes on many breaks when the President is in town. Is that hypocrisy?
The issue is not Obama’s hypocrisy in taking a vacation, but once again his lack of leadership in forging a compromise on issues that effect every working American and the future of our country.
Personally, I don’t think he wants a compromise on the payroll tax. Obama wants an issue to run on in 2012. If he really wanted it done, he’d be there. That’s the message he’s sending to Congressional Democrats. Make it look like your fighting for the little guy, but don’t give an inch or make it happen in reality. That’s why all the compromise bills are coming from the Senate, that does not have the power to be the originator of a tax bill.
And all along, the MSM and Dems are playing right along pulling the wool over the eyes of the majority of the American people who don’t get it.

Ovomit never works. He has evil minions do all the real legwork on all the policies he then gets to flap his jaws about. Well, read the teleprompter about it all. Let him go on vacay. He is harmless by himself, until his keepers tell him what to say/read.
He is a puppet. Nothing more, nothing less. Someone else is pulling his strings. He has no clue what he is saying if it is not scripted. Look at how he behaves off teleprompter. Totally clueless.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
