Happy Thanksgiving!
I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Well, everyone except for our new troll (and if he continues down his “minor girls have a right to mangle their icky girly parts and kill their unborn without their folks getting wind of it” road, he’ll be the “former troll”) Jeff. He can choke on a turkey bone (or his boyfriend’s), for all I care. The other moonbats who lurk and stalk can stuff themselves, too.
But for everyone else, enjoy your Turkey Day, and reflect on that for which you are thankful.
Happy Fathers Day!
Kudos to you dads out there, including my own, on this fine day that God has prepared for us! Little did Mr. Liberalism know xx years ago that little Crush would put the “fun” in “dysfunctional” in his life for many, many years!
Anywho, love ya, Dad! And to you non-moonbat dads out there, enjoy your Fathers Day!
Happy Earth Day
Everyone, please properly observe Earth Day today. Here are some tips to get the most out of Mother Gaia’s birthday:
- Drive a Hummer down to Blockbuster to rent An Inconvenient Truth.
- Club a fur seal.
- Eat some spotted owl blackened on your charcoal-fired grill.
- Chop down a tree for your own firewood.
- Leave the lights on, Al Gore style.
- Piddle around the world in a jumbo jet, Al Gore style.
- Stand outside and empty a whole can of hair spray into the atmosphere.
- Go grocery shopping and demand that each piece of produce you buy get put into its own plastic bag.
- Fart. A lot. Preferably outside so as to “warm” the atmosphere.
- Breathe. Nothing p#sses off an environut more than that one simple act.
Anywho, if you have any additional tips to help us enjoy Earth Day, please pass them on.
Charitable donation (no, not to me!)
This is a modified re-post of something I wrote a couple of years ago, and I decided to do it again after listening to the radio at lunchtime. Please indulge me for a moment:
As most of you know, I do not post a great deal of personal information (beyond my profile) here due to the fact that some people who come here end up not liking me. I know, I know…how can that possibly be? With my disarming manners, my gentle nature, my folksy Tennessee charm, and my Southern hospitality, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could possibly think I am a juvenile, boorish, lewd, sarcastic pinhead. But believe it or not, some people do!
Anyway, this post is neither partisan nor political in nature. It is a simple request to you fine folks who grant me a moment of your precious time by stopping by here, many on a periodic basis. My request is that you please make a donation to a charity…any charity…that you feel does wonderful things that personally effect you in some way.
I received a piece of mail from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. A family member of mine passed away a few years ago as a result of this heinous disease, and I have donated to this foundation since then. She remains in my thoughts, my memories, and my heart to this day, and I am blessed that she was allowed to touch my life for over three decades. As such, one way that I choose to honor her is by donating to MMRF to help them find a cure. When the cure is found, I will take pride in my small contribution’s role in the discovery.
Anyway, I have interpreted the receipt of the letter from MMRF as a sign to invite each of you to donate to a charity. I’m not asking you to donate to MMRF, but I am asking you to donate any amount (small, medium, or large) to a charitable organization to which you feel a connection. After all, I’ve known (and still know) people affected or afflicted by various cancers, autism, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), muscular dystrophy, AIDS, diabetes, and many other illnesses, and I would donate to find cures for all of them if I could. So all I ask of you fine folks is to pick just one charitable organization, even if not related to people (such as the Humane Society), and make a donation of any size. Believe me, they’ll take a $5 donation just as soon as they’d take a $500 one.
Donating is a personal choice and personal matter. I don’t need or want to know which one you chose, unless you want to tell the world in the comments section. That’s completely up to you. I just thank you for your time, and your patronage here. God bless.
Autism Awareness Month
April is Autism Awareness Month. I have autism in my family, and as a result, I do my part to help find a cure. As such, consider this a public service announcement.
Instead of using Google (a company that does evil despite their motto to the contrary), consider using Goodsearch. Goodsearch is powered by Yahoo, and every search you make generates money for your selected charity. I have selected the Autism Solution Center of Cordova. Every search I make results in a donation to the Autism Solution Center. Even if you don’t pick them, consider using Goodsearch to donate to a charity of your liking.
Autism strikes 1 out of 150 kids born today. Great strides have been made, but there is so much more to do in order to find a cure for it. Autism doesn’t care what race, gender, income level, religion, or political persuasion the parents may possess. Please consider donating time or money to organizations like the Autism Society of America or Autism Speaks. Thank you for indulging me this message.
Sex offender registry
In light of the heartbreaking ending that occurred here in the Jacksonville area (details here), I feel compelled to post this link to a sex offender registry. Please take the time to see if any pervs live in your neighborhood or nearby.
