At a million-dollar San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America.
“The one thing that we absolutely know for sure is that if we don’t work even harder than we did in 2008, then we’re going to have a government that tells the American people, ‘you are on your own,’” Obama told a crowd of 200 donors over lunch at the W Hotel.
Self-reliance is a bad thing? As opposed to reliance? How’s reliance been working for you, liberals?

Occupy Wall Street miscreants stunned to find thieves in their midst
Let’s see: a bunch of losers who have been demanding handouts stolen by government from the producers and given to non-producers are all of a sudden big proponents of private property? Fascinating. So what has brought about this about face? This:
Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops — and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.
“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.
“I had my Mac stolen — that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”
Crafty cat burglars sneaked into the makeshift kitchen at Zuccotti Park overnight and swiped as much as $2,500 in donated greenbacks from right under the noses of volunteers who’d fallen asleep after a long day whipping up meals for the hundreds of hungry protesters, the volunteers said.
Evil corporations make their gadgets, so think of the thieves as doing the non-bathing Marxists a favor by lifting their gadgets from them.
I’m guessing the irony of their outrage to theft while advocating government theft will be lost on them.

A most awesome column by…wait for it…Obama’s cousin! I’m thinking he’s not getting invited to the family reunion (whether in Chicago or Kenya) any time soon. Excerpt:

They occupy university campuses for years without learning skills that can actually contribute to our society’s economy. They demand to occupy a child’s place on their parents’ health insurance plan and then can’t understand why everyone’s premiums have risen further out of reach. They occupy a place in their mothers’ basements and can’t believe their fathers have become little Eichmanns in a capitalist world. Heck, at this point, I’d be happy if they’d just occupy a shower once in a while.

Howard Dean: Yeah, Obama was lying with “if you like your plan, you get to keep it!”

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman, and doctor, Howard Dean backed a McKinsey & Co. survey today that found that almost a third of private-sector employers will drop their employee health insurance coverage when Obamacare’s government-managed insurance exchanges come online.
Dean told Morning Joe, “The fact is it is very good for small business. There was a McKinsey study, which the Democrats don’t like, but I do, and I think its true. Most small businesses are not going to be in the health insurance business anymore after this thing goes into effect.”
The reason Democrats fought so hard to dismiss the McKinsey survey when it was released is because its conclusion undermines two major claims Obama made during health care debate: “If you like your health plan, you can keep it” and “It will not add one penny to the deficit.”
Fellow Morning Joe guest former New York Gov. George Pataki immediately hit the first point: “The only way its a help is if they drop coverage and their employees would all of a sudden have to go on the exchange, which is what of course the president promised wouldn’t happen.”
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) premised their Obamacare score on the assumption that only 7 percent of employers would drop their employee health plans. If the percentage is closer to the 30 percent, as the McKinsey survey results predict, Obamacare’s price tag would rise by almost $1 trillion.
For the left, this is a feature and not a bug.
But hey, the feds have done such an awesome job managing the Postal Service, Social Security, Medicare, Amtrak, etc., so we can expect that same level of competence and efficiency when it comes to running our health care, right?
Yet another instance of “we have to pass the ObamaCare bill to see what’s in it” story
You know, I’m starting to get the sneaking suspicion that lawmakers and the president didn’t actually read the ObamaCare bill before it was signed in to law. Latest development:
Even as leading Democrats offered assurances to the contrary, government experts repeatedly warned that a new long-term care insurance plan could go belly up, saddling taxpayers with another underfunded benefit program, according to emails disclosed by congressional investigators.
Part of President Barack Obama’s health care law, the program is in limbo as a congressional debt panel searches for budget savings and behind the scenes, administration officials scramble to find a viable financing formula.
A longstanding priority of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports program, or CLASS, was spliced into the health care law despite nagging budget worries. Administration emails and documents reveal that alarms were sounded earlier and more widely than previously thought. Congressional Republicans seeking repeal of the program provided the materials to The Associated Press.
“Seems like a recipe for disaster to me,” William Marton, a senior aging policy official in the administration, wrote in an October 2009 email. Marton explained his concern that large numbers of healthy people would not willingly sign up for CLASS, creating a predicament in which soaring premiums for a smaller group of frail beneficiaries would destabilize the program.
That central design flaw has dogged CLASS from the drawing board, and it may turn out to be insurmountable without making the program mandatory for most workers. CLASS remains vulnerable to repeal. (Another individual mandate? Huh. Imagine that. – CL)

Ironically, many of the problems in our current healthcare system that lead to demands for public policy fixes—the underpayment of primary care providers, overpayment for certain specialty procedures, excessive payments for medical supplies—actually originate in government-run health programs. Expecting things to get better by expanding the reach of government in medicine appears to be a triumph of hope over experience.
How odd! I mean, the government is so efficient with what it runs (Post Office, the VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Social Security, Medicare), so why shouldn’t we allow the feds to replicate the same level of success they’ve had in the aforementioned programs and agencies with respect to our health care system?
Geithner: Hey, we need to tax the crap out of small businesses so government doesn’t get any smaller!

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to “shrink the overall size of government programs.”
The administration’s plan to raise the tax rate on small businesses is part of its plan to raise taxes on all Americans who make more than $250,000 per year—including businesses that file taxes the same way individuals and families do.

“Looking into the future, you are supporting the idea of taxation, increasing taxes on those who make $250,000 or more. Those are our business owners,” said Ellmers (That’s freshman Republican Renee Elmers of NC, the lady that defeated the “hoower you, you whippersnapper college student” assault guy. – CL).Geithner initially responded by saying that the administration’s planned tax increase would hit “three percent of your small businesses.”
Ellmers then said: “Sixty-four percent of jobs that are created in this country are for small business.”
Geithner conceded the point, but then suggested the administration’s planned tax increase on small businesses would be “good for growth.”
“No, that’s right. I agree with that,” said Geithner. “But just to put it in perspective, it’s important to recognize why are we doing this. You know, our deficits are 10 percent of GDP, higher than they’ve been since any time in the postwar period really. We have a big hole to dig out of, and we have to figure out how to do that in a way that’s balanced, good for growth, fair to people as a whole.”
Ah, yes. The ol’ “tax hikes are GREAT for job creation and economic growth” argument! Yep, that worked when…um…well, there was the time that, uh…um…I mean, we jacked taxes up and saw the economy roar like gangbusters when…uh…

When Ellmers finally told Geithner that “the point is we need jobs,” he responded that the administration felt it had “no alternative” but to raise taxes on small businesses because otherwise “you have to shrink the overall size of government programs”—including federal education spending.
So now we get to the heart of it! It’s not growing the economy that these nimrods want…it’s growing government! I mean, those of us in Normal America have known that, but it’s nice to wrestle a confession out of the ObaMao admin every once in a while.
I can think of one Timmy that is at least slightly more competent and intelligent than Geithner:

President Obama recently “cracked wise” about his failed ‘stimulus,’ saying “‘shovel-ready’ was not as ‘shovel-ready’ as we expected.” Of course, it’s not a laughing matter for the 13.7 million Americans looking for work today, and Reuters notes that the president “needs to come up – quickly – with a convincing plan to generate jobs.” Republicans already have such a plan – one focused on promoting the kind of private-sector job growth the ‘stimulus’ promised but failed to deliver. All the details are available now at Jobs.GOP.gov.
Republicans have invited President Obama to help enact our plan, but he appears content with his old one. While the White House insists the president “isn’t waving a victory banner,” there he was in Miami saying he deserves credit for our sluggish economic recovery, according to The Washington Times. ‘Credit’ for 9.1 percent unemployment? If you say so.
As for the joke, perhaps President Obama is on to something about broken promises. Here are similar lines for potential use at future events:
- “The ‘stimulus’ was not as stimulating as we expected.” This one’s obvious, but timely with the anniversary of Recovery Summer around the corner. Think about it: at this time last year, the White House was readying a victory lap, but our economy has lost hundreds of thousands of jobs since then, and 1.5 million overall since the ‘stimulus’ was enacted.
- “The ‘Sputnik Moment’ was not as momentous as we expected.” Just weeks after declaring that the United States had reached a ‘Sputnik moment,’ the president released a budget that was widely panned for failing to make the tough choices needed to tackle the job-crushing debt that threatens our ability to compete and secure our children’s future. With the government on track to end the fiscal year $1.6 trillion in the red, the Obama Administration has asked Congress to increase the debt limit without any spending cuts or reforms.
- ‘‘The ‘Affordable Care Act’ was not as affordable as we expected.’ Families and small businesses continue to suffer from ObamaCare’s maze of mandates, tax hikes, and mandates, which 200 economists and experts have called “major barriers to stronger job growth.”
- “The ‘Open Government Initiative’ was not as open as we expected.” The White House staff holds regular meetings with lobbyists at Caribou Coffee across the street from the Oval Office so they can avoid recording their meetings on public visitor logs. So much for being ‘the most open and transparent’ administration in history.

Republicans last week asked ObaMao if he intended on presenting a plan to reduce our crippling debt. B.O. said no.
Well, it looks like Uhhhbama has found a debt he wants to tackle: that of Greece.
President Barack Obama on Tuesday urged European countries and bondholders to prevent a “disastrous” default by Greece and pledged U.S. support to help tackle the country’s debt crisis.
Par for the course for him (and considering his golf addiction, there was actually no pun intended). He won’t address our energy problems, but he’ll help Brazil get oil. He won’t address our fiscal crisis, but he’ll help Greece try to get their fiscal house in order.
You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d swear the guy friggin’ hates America and wants to see us weakened as much as possible before his sorry #ss gets kicked to the curb next November.
Obama lawyer defending ObamaCare: Hey, you could always make less money in order to escape the individual mandate!
Ho. Ly. Shiite. Seriously, that’s the defense this administration is going to use? “If you like your doctor, you get to keep your doctor. But if you like your job, you need to ditch it and go earn a smaller paycheck!” From the Washington Examiner‘s Philip Klein:
President Obama’s solicitor general, defending the national health care law on Wednesday, told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn’t like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money.
Neal Kumar Katyal, the acting solicitor general, made the argument under questioning before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, which was considering an appeal by the Thomas More Law Center. …
Kaytal conceded that the Supreme Court had “never been confronted directly” with the question, but cited the Heart of Atlanta Motel case as a relevant example. In that landmark 1964 civil rights case, the Court ruled that Congress could use its Commerce Clause power to bar discrimination by private businesses such as hotels and restaurants.
“They’re in the business,” [Judge Jeffrey] Sutton pushed back. “They’re told if you’re going to be in the business, this is what you have to do. In response to that law, they could have said, ‘We now exit the business.’ Individuals don’t have that option.”
Kaytal responded by noting that the there’s a provision in the health care law that allows people to avoid the mandate.
“If we’re going to play that game, I think that game can be played here as well, because after all, the minimum coverage provision only kicks in after people have earned a minimum amount of income,” Kaytal said. “So it’s a penalty on earning a certain amount of income and self insuring. It’s not just on self insuring on its own. So I guess one could say, just as the restaurant owner could depart the market in Heart of Atlanta Motel, someone doesn’t need to earn that much income. I think both are kind of fanciful and I think get at…”
Sutton interjected, “That wasn’t in a single speech given in Congress about this…the idea that the solution if you don’t like it is make a little less money.”
You just know the liberal judicial activists on SCOTUS will side with this cretin’s “logic” when the case finally lands in their lap.

Spain learning painful lessons that socialism teaches
Socialism sure is tough to pull off when other people’s money isn’t quite there, huh? Duh:
When Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero took power seven years ago, he and his Socialist Workers’ Party set out to perfect the welfare state in Spain. The goal was to equal— or even surpass — lavish social protections that have long been the rule for Spain’s Western European neighbors.
True to his Socialist principles and riding an economic boom, Zapatero raised the minimum wage and extended health insurance to cover everything from sniffles to sex changes. He made scholarships available to all. Young adults got rent subsidies called “emancipation” money. Mothers got $3,500 for the birth of a child, toddlers attended free nurseries and the elderly got stipends for nursing care.
How times have changed. With a U.S.-style real estate bubble having burst and the 2008 global economic crisis having unfurled like a tsunami from Wall Street to Plaza de Espana, Zapatero’s main concern in his second term has become hacking away at government spending to preserve Spain’s credit rating. The icon of socialism recently concluded a pact with labor unions and business leaders to freeze pensions, push back the retirement age from 65 to 67, trim union bargaining rights, cut civil servants’ pay by 5 percent (including his own) and suspend the childbirth bonus. The alternative, he warned, was bankruptcy.
So how has unemployment fared in socialist Spain?
The financial crisis has forced deep cuts and left Spain burdened with 21.3 percent unemployment, the highest of any nation using the Euro as its currency. The jobless rate among the young stands at 40 percent and a total of 4.9 million people are out of work in Spain, the highest number since 1997.
And how did the electorate respond?
With 91% of municipal votes counted, the centre-right Popular Party (PP) had almost a 10-percentage point lead, the interior ministry said.
Voting took place amid mass protests against high unemployment and the government’s handling of the economy.
Demonstrators holding sit-ins in Madrid and other cities said rallies would continue for another week.
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero conceded his party had been resoundingly defeated but said he had no intention of calling early general elections.
He said three years of economic crisis had taken their toll.
Huh. Go figure.

Socialist Senator finds ONE good thing about capitalism: selling HIS OWN book!
We accuse many Democrats of being socialist in their philosophy and voting record, and rightly so. However, one Senator is an actual confessed, self-described socialist: Bernie Sanders of Vermont. To be fair, Sanders is officially an “independent”, but he caucuses with the Dems and votes with them nearly 100% of the time. Birds of a feather flock together, no?
With that in mind, savor the hypocrisy:
Vermont’s Sen. Bernie Sanders is a different kind of socialist: the kind who will partake in the capitalist venture of freely exchanging money for products… at least when it comes to selling his own book.
The self-described socialist is out promoting his straight-to-paperback The Speech: A Historic Filibuster on Corporate Greed and the Decline of Our Middle Class, and was eager to sign and sell copies at corporate entities like Barnes & Noble in Washington, D.C.

Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.
That’s in addition to the 27 new waivers for health care or drug companies and the 31 new union waivers Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services approved.
Pelosi’s district secured almost 20 percent of the latest issuance of waivers nationwide…
“ObamaCare for thee, but not for me!” I guess it pays to have connections, right? But why would Queen Botox’s district’s businesses even need waivers from ObamaCare?

Rep. Anthony Weiner said Wednesday he was looking into how a health law waiver might work for New York City.
Weiner, who is likely to run for mayor of New York, said that because of the city’s special health care infrastructure, his office was looking into alternatives that might make more sense. Weiner is one of the health care law’s biggest supporters; during the debate leading up to reform, he was one of the last holdouts in Congress for the public option.
“The president said, ‘If you have better ideas that can accomplish the same thing, go for it,’” said Weiner. “I’m in the process now of trying to see if we can take [President Barack Obama] up on it in the city of New York, … and I’m taking a look at all of the money we spend in Medicaid and Medicare and maybe New York City can come up with a better plan.”

The congressman was trying to debunk Republican “myths” about the health care law during a speech at the Center for American Progress. He used the waivers as way to describe how flexible the law actually is and how “this notion that the government is shoving the bill down people’s throats” is not true.“The administration needs to make this argument more forcefully,” he said. “A lot of people who got waivers were … people who are our friends.”
“Our friends”…you know, it really does pay to be an FOB (Friend Of Barack), doesn’t it. By logical extension, apparently the rest of America that resides outside of his district are enemies, right?

Our debt now equals our total economy
Why, it’s as if our president and his party are a bunch of economic illiterates or something! Details:
President Obama projects that the gross federal debt will top $15 trillion this year, officially equalling the size of the entire U.S. economy, and will jump to nearly $21 trillion in five years’ time.
Amid the other staggering numbers in the budget Mr. Obama sent to Congress on Monday, the debt stands out — both because Congress will need to vote to raise the debt limit later this year, and because the numbers are so large.
Mr. Obama‘s budget said 2011 will see the biggest one-year jump in debt in history, or nearly $2 trillion in a single year. And the administration says it will reach $15.476 trillion by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, to reach 102.6 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) — the first time since World War II that dubious figure has been reached.
I blame Bush. Or something.

President Barack Obama’s budget proposal resurrects a series of tax increases on certain corporations and the wealthy that were largely ignored by Congress when Democrats controlled both chambers. Republicans, who now control the House, are signaling they will be even less receptive.

In all, the budget proposal would impose about $730 billion in new taxes on businesses and wealthy individuals over the next decade, while cutting about $400 billion in taxes on middle-income families, the working poor and other businesses, for a net tax increase of about $330 billion.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., called Obama’s proposal a missed opportunity to address the nation’s fiscal problems.“We need a government that finally does what every other American has to do in their households and their businesses, and that’s to live within our means,” Cantor said in a statement. “Instead, President Obama’s budget doubles down on the bad habits of the past four years by calling for more taxes, spending and borrowing of money that we simply do not have.”
He couldn’t get a Congress dominated by his own party to pass through tax hikes, so he figures that a GOP-controlled House will? Friggin’ brilliant, Oba-Mao. Good luck with that.

Laugher of the day: Obama claims to have not raised taxes
This one was such a knee-slapper that even Politifact (who ran interference for B.O. on ObamaCare) couldn’t pass it up:
“I didn’t raise taxes once. I lowered taxes over the last two years,” Obama said.
He’s trying to be Clintonesque here. He didn’t raise income taxes, but he sure as hell raised other taxes, despite the Vice-Plagiarist telling us during the campaign that O-blah-blah wasn’t going to raise any kind of taxes “not a dime”. Continuing:
The idea that Obama did not raise taxes is just plain wrong. He signed legislation raising taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products soon after taking office; that money goes to pay for children’s health insurance programs. The law went into effect in 2009. He also signed the health care law, which includes taxes on indoor tanning that went into effect last year. (Regular PolitiFact readers will remember our fact-check of reality TV star Snooki and her complaint about the new tax last year.)
The new health care law also includes a tax on people who decide not to have health insurance, as an incentive for them to get coverage. The tax phases in gradually, starting in 2014. By 2016, the tax would be $695 per uninsured person up to a maximum of three times that amount, or $2,085. The law includes exemptions for people who can’t find affordable insurance, and a few other special circumstances.
More significantly, the health care law includes new taxes on the wealthy, starting in 2013. Individuals who make more than $200,000 and couples that make more than $250,000 will see additional Medicare taxes of 0.9 percent. They will also, for the first time, have to pay Medicare taxes on their investment income at a 3.8 percent rate. (Current law is that all workers and employers split a 2.9 percent Medicare tax; the self-employed pay all of it.)

In a recent Article posted in the CPUSA News, People’s World, Sam Webb seems to echo the sentiments of AFL-CIO President Trumka, as he calls for a “Broad Unity” to push forward the Agenda of the ‘Working People’:

Out of frustration it is easy to put both parties in one boat regardless of circumstances, but that is a strategic and tactical mistake. Struggles that could be won will be lost if this strategy and tactic is pursued, and defeats that could be mitigated will turn into momentous setbacks.”
But hey, where would you get the crazy idea that Obama and the Dems are some sort of pinkos?
Reid to Boehner: Don’t try to repeal ObamaCare
The 112th Congress doesn’t begin until Wednesday, but Senate Democrats are already vowing to block any attempts by the new GOP-led House to repeal the healthcare reform law.
The Senate’s top Democrats, led by Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.), wrote incoming House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Monday warning the new GOP House against advancing legislation that would undo the sweeping healthcare overhaul.
“The incoming House Republican majority that you lead has made the repeal of the federal health care law one of its chief goals. We urge you to consider the unintended consequences that the law’s repeal would have on a number of popular consumer protections that help middle class Americans,” the Democrats said.
In response, Speaker Boehner cordially invited Reid to “self-fornicate” and to “receive a prostate exam from Edward Scissorhands”.
There’s a distinct possibility that I totally fabricated the last line of the above excerpt.

But polls have found that other aspects of the bill, including the individual mandate to buy insurance, aren’t popular with the public.
“Maybe it’s not ideal — it’s certainly not communism,” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said of the individual mandate, according to the Toledo Blade.
If you have to defend something as “it’s certainly not communism”, then there’s a pretty good chance that it is indeed communism. Seriously, that’s the best you’ve got, Brown? “It sucks mightily, but hey, at least it’s not commie legislation, right?”

Cuba could go belly up in two or three years?

Communism fails yet again? The heck you say!
If only Cuba could model its economic policy after the more successful communist economies of our generation, such as the Soviet Union. Oh, wait…they went belly up about 20 years ago, didn’t they? OK, like North Korea. Oh, wait, they face chronic food shortages, don’t they? OK, like…well…I’m all out of ammo on this one.
They country’s economy is in the crapper, but hey, at least they have “free” health care, right?
ObamaCare needed to be passed so badly that…the feds exempt 222+ companies from complying
Pelosi: We need to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.
Over 200 companies: We found out. We’re dropping coverage for our workers.
Obama: OK, you’re exempt. But as for everyone else…
The Obama Administration has quietly granted even more waivers to one provision of the new federal health reform law, doubling the number in just the last three weeks to a new total of 222.
One of the more recognizable business names included on the newly-expanded list of waivers issued by the feds is that of Waffle House, which received a waiver on November 23 for health coverage that covers 3,947 enrollees.
Another familiar name was that of Universal Orlando, which runs a variety of very popular resorts in the Orlando, Florida area. Universal was given a waiver for plans that cover 668 workers.
These waivers deal with limited health benefit plans, sometimes referred to as “mini-med” policies, which companies as large as McDonald’s use for some its employees.
The plan have limits on how much can be paid out in coverage, limits which would be phased out under the new health reform law.
The feds though have granted waivers from that law, amid concern that certain groups would drop their health insurance programs entirely. Those waivers are good for one year, and can be considered for renewal.
A spokeswoman for Waffle House refused to explain the need for the waiver, saying “because Waffle House is a private company, we are going to decline to comment.”
As for Universal Orlando, a spokesman defended the waiver in an email on Monday evening.
“The new legislation would have left our part-time workers without their medical coverage,” said Tom Schroder of Universal Orlando Public Relations.
“We sought the waiver so that we could continue to provide them with the coverage they need and deserve,” Schroder added.
Only a fool (or a liberal, same diff) would think this number won’t skyrocket even further over the coming weeks and months.
Busted! IPCC panelist confesses what the right already knew: global “warming” a hoax intended to redistribute wealth

If you needed any more evidence that the entire theory of manmade global warming was a scheme to redistribute wealth you got it Sunday when a leading member of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change told a German news outlet, “[W]e redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy.”
You must read the whole thing! Here’s another money quote to whet the appetite:
(NZZ): De facto, this means an expropriation of the countries with natural resources. This leads to a very different development from that which has been triggered by development policy.
(EDENHOFER): First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.
Admission. Smoking gun. Whatever you want to call it, this IPCC tool Edenhoffer admits that “international climate policy” has nothing to do with “environmental policy”. Why not? Because it’s about raiding the U.S. money supply to fund development in Africa and other Third World Shiiteholes, or as Candidate Kick#ss told Joe the Plumber, “spreading the wealth around.”
The IPCC and Al Gore got a Nobel Peace Prize (instead of the more appropriate Nobel Prize in Science Fiction) for their mockumentary on global “warming”. The facts have never been convincing, which is probably why those “climate change” scientists cooked the books and were subsequently exposed. I mean, no sense lying about facts if they’re on your side, right? Ask Dan Rather how well that tactic works.
Anywho, the IPCC tried passing themselves off as objective truth-seekers, instead of the socialist pinkos we conservatives have always suspected them to be. Now, we’ve got proof that we were right and that global “warming” is nothing more than a junk science fad intended to steal the fruits of the producers in America and give them to the non-producers on the other side of the planet…all in the name of “fairness”.
The science is settled: global “warming” is a load of crap.
ObamaCare’s latest victim: Boeing
If you like your health plan, you get to keep it. Unless you work for Boeing, that is. Details:
Aerospace giant Boeing is joining the list of companies that say the new health care law could have a potential downside for their workers.
In a letter mailed to employees late last week, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year. A copy of the letter was obtained Monday by The Associated Press.
“The newly enacted health care reform legislation, while intended to expand access to care for millions of uninsured Americans, is also adding cost pressure as requirements of the new law are phased in over the next several years,” wrote Rick Stephens, Boeing’s senior vice president for human resources.

Deductibles, the share of medical costs that employees pay annually before their plan kicks in, will go up to $300 for individuals, an increase of $100. For families, the new deductible will be $900, an increase of $300.In addition, Boeing is instituting a copayment of 10 percent after the deductible has been met. The copayment will rise to 20 percent in 2012.
Those changes will reduce the value of the Boeing plan, but it’s unclear whether that will allow the company to escape the tax (Cadillac tax. – CL) looming in 2018.
For the left, this isn’t a bug in ObamaCare. It’s a feature. In order to get to government-run (i.e. socialized) health care, the private sector must collapse first…one Boeing at a time.

With the economy continuing to stagger and job creation not moving quickly, “working people are justifiably angry and frustrated” as they approach the Nov. 2 elections, says AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.
…In the short term, said Trumka, the labor movement has to “recapture the moment and take control of the national conversation.” Building for the future, we need to fundamentally restructure our economy and re-establish popular control over the private corporations which have distorted our economy and hijacked our government. That’s a long-term job, but one we should start now.

Three million seniors losing their prescription drug coverage, thanks to ObamaCare
Didn’t President Kick#ss tell us ad nauseum last year that if you liked your coverage and your doctor, you could keep them? Yeah, that was total bovine feces (but you already knew that). Add this to the growing list of Pelosi’s “Things we’ll find out after passing the bill”:
More than 3 million seniors may have to switch their Medicare prescription plan next year, even if they’re perfectly happy with it, thanks to an attempt by the government to simplify their lives.
The policy change could turn into a hassle for seniors who hadn’t intended to switch plans during Medicare’s open enrollment season this fall.
And it risks undercutting President Barack Obama’s promise that people who like their health care plans can keep them.
A new analysis by a leading private research firm estimates that more than 3 million beneficiaries will see their current drug plan eliminated as Medicare tries to winnow down duplicative and confusing coverage, in order to offer consumers more meaningful choices. Instead of 40 or more plans in each state, beneficiaries would pick from 30 or so.
“As a result of this policy, there are going to be fewer plans offered in 2011,” said Bonnie Washington, a senior analyst with Avalere Health, which produced the study. “There is still going to be robust choice for beneficiaries, but those who have to change plans could experience some disruption and inconvenience.”
That’s a loss of 25% of choices…in the first year of ObamaCare! But hey, I’m sure there won’t be any more of those plans disappearing after that, right?
